Welcome David! What we are doing right now is adding as many known problems as we can to a general list that we will prioritize very shortly into our first projects. If you know of specific concerns just point them out, and we we get them on the list. Also, if you wouldn't mind, you might say a few words about your background and interests. We will all do that. Thanks for joining in! |

As much a I like this effort, I am a little (very little) concerned that you basically are soliciting folks from one forum to jump over to a different one. I belive this is against the "TOS". At any rate, I do hope we can proceed. Forums are like my college career. I've been kicked out of the best of them! |

Let me be clear as a bell on this. I am not recruiting people to "change forums." There is a specific reason I started this forum, which is to organize the effort to provide engineering solutions that solve the quality problems of AS trailers. It's not a general purpose forum, like AIR FORUM. Management on the AIR forum has made is absolutely clear to me that I will NOT be allowed to "organize" any effort which might be against the interests of THOR, or any company. Since my intent is exactly that, I can not in any useful way conduct this work on that forum. We would all be booted off. The AIR FORUM apparently has some commercial connections with advertisers or THOR or AS directly. It is their desire to prevent any means that their forum members might have of gaining leverage or advantage with THOR by organizing. So, in other words, they like complaining - as long as it is simply complaints into a vacuum. They are like a catch bucket for random complaints which go nowhere. That's one of their purposes - shunting dissent to ground. That protects all the companies involved. But the minute I tried to organize those complaints into an effective force to challenge the company, their RED DANGER LIGHTS went off. So, this is not a replacement forum. It is just a place to do the work of up-engineering. People should do all the things they normally would do on the Air forum. If anyone is in doubt, or is uncomfortable doing this work, then of course this is not for you. No hard feelings. |

Hi All, I joined this forum today. Thanks to Redwoodguy for the invite. My wife and I are totally new to Airstreams. We do look to factory order our Airstream (2013 30' Classic) within the next 3 months. We are waiting so we will have our TV in possession by the time the Classic arrives. Reading the forums, I was surprised at the various complaints by recent Airstreams owners, especially corrosion. We welcome this opportunity to learn how to best take care of and prevent potential problems that may arise. http://z5.ifrm.com/static/emo/9.png Freedomrider Chris & Clara Germantown, MD |

Welcome Freedomrider! We hope to begin to make a good formal identification of the parts and systems that are "less than expected quality" and find better alternatives. If you read this thread: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f449/no-110v-when-hooked-to-shore-power-93065-5.html#post1169320 on the AirForum, you will get an EXCELLENT idea of which I speak. This ATS device is failing frequently and has the most minimal purpose imaginable - saving you from having to move a manual switch! When they fail, which apparently is often, you can't get any electric power to the trailer. The reason I had to create this separate forum is very simple. The Airforum management expressly PROHIBITS and "organized" complaining against the Airstream company. They do not mind ad hoc complaints (in fact the encourage it) which will just fall on deaf ears. But any organized attempt to address such complaints with the Airstream company through that forum are forbidden. This means they want to treat their members like children who can cry, but not like adults who can take action. My goals is helping owners who have spend $75,000. They goal is helping Airstream collect it. We hope to make a substantive improvement in what these trailers can be. Thanks for joining! |
