Applauding redwoodguy's commitment to a self-regulating forum. Bravo!

Am bitterly disappointed by the other forum's dismissive/selective moderating. I spent over an hour on a Sunday afternoon penning "The Rule of Natural Law" in an attempt to make the forum proactive vs. reactive, but my reply along with the entire thread was deleted.

For those who are interested or missed it, my deleted reply is below.

Thank-you, redwoodguy, for instigating this site.

The Rule of Natural Law - Repost

I am grateful for this forum, but would be extremely grateful if threads were not locked (or deleted).

I believe in the rule of natural law. Human beings are capable of rational, purposive action, speech and thought. Thwart this, and you negate the power of the individual - the ability to assign responsibility or liability, praise or blame.
Interference in the interest of "group harmony" is a misnomer -
when it is as the expense of the individuals in the group.

The rule of natural law is always juxtaposed with human nature. The law of natural law will still validate those casting aspersions because those who resort to this behaviour are fearful because they feel they have become disconnected from their power. Revalidate them as individuals, and you conquer their fear. The rule of natural law prevails.

I appreciate that the purpose of this site is to promote the Airstream brand (and its associates) but Airstream attracts individualists. Gag the individualist, and you smother the brand.

Let the rule of natural law determine the course in these forum discussions, and you will ultimately champion Airstream - not destroy it.

It was great the first time around, and all the better now. I try to imagine what possible rule a post such as that violates? Although I am very much against the idea that grown people with enough resources to buy an RV somehow need minders, I suppose I could understand posts with violent threats or filthy language being deleted by moderators. But when people spend intellectual capital to write meaningful posts, and moderators are threatened by that enough to delete it and then hand out "infractions," you really have to wonder what kind of future that predicts.

Welcome to this little part of the Airstream Universe. It is right now a mere rock in the Van Allen belt. But I think it has potential. It has the potential that free minds always bring to any proposition - - progress.

I trust the human intellect. I appreciate democratic movement. I need no minders watching over my thoughts.

It is better the second time around because it has the advantage of your erudite reply, redwood. Well said!
