"The Government of Republic of Hampstead would like to invite all her esteemed allies and friends to formally join in this Union to affirm their economic and political association, as well as a partnership to work to prevent conflict and spread international peace."

This was the message President R O Hall telegrammed to the nations of Killadonia, Great Franconia and Verana, Winovia, Shroomic Republic, United Bourque, Eride, Rrzan, and Ruiru, as an invitation to their Leaders to attend a conference in the beautiful Palatinus Island, capital of the Republic of Hampstead.

"The Treaty is a very important part of my governments policy," the Franconian Foreign Minister says, standing.
"We feel that this treaty would best serve as both a military and economic alliance.,"

"Interesting proposal. What do the other delegates think?"

After remaining silent for so long, Deputy Secretary Poulin stands up and speaks.

"For obvious reasons, Killadonia would not be able to provide military support in this alliance. However, I feel confident that we can make up for this with our powerful economy, numerous scientific and technological innovations, and a world-class education system. Killadonia would be glad to participate in virtually any activity the alliance brings forth."

"Since we already have the G4, Winovia would not be participating in any military activity. Though we will take part in the economic side."

Lady Cathrine scoffs, "I don't plan for my people to be involved in any sort of non-Eridiean conflicts, so I'd say a military alliance is out of the question, and the economic one poses a few concerns, if we do accept ,assuming it's a sort of Free Trade agreement with little-to-no tariffs involved; than I fear that it may impact the industries of Eride, importing may seem easier to most citizens, since most domestic products are quite costly."

"I see. Thank you for voicing your concerns. It is pretty clear, therefore, that military pursuits are out of the question.
Lady Catherine, we would very much like for Eride to be a part of these negotiations and hopefully become part of the Treaty, but it would seem that your current position makes that difficult."

"I place prosperity of my homeland over that of a piece of paper, but I do realize some new beneficial opportunities for all of our nations if we accept this."

"Well, I do hope you understand the full impact this treaty could have on Eride: it will be an alliance for the greater good of our countries, and if we all did not believe that we can all benefit from each other, we would not be here" Secretary Smith followed:

"This is a great opportunity for our countries to improve their trading relationship, to build on each others scientific knowledge, to improve education and life in general in our nations."
