Following the announcement that beloved President John Mellor would not be seeking re-election this fall, politicians around the country have begun vying for the support of their parties to run for President. Social Progressive Ideology: Left to center-left Governmental Priorities: Education, social equality, and the environment The Social Progressives have an unfamiliar task this election season: after almost twenty years in power, they will now have to determine who they will be their candidate for President during the upcoming election. While several of the other political parties could be described as "one issue" parties, the Social Progressives promote a comprehensive platform consisting of Green Party Ideology: Far-left Governmental Priorities: The environment The Eternal Peace Party Ideology: Far-left to left Government Priorities: The overall ban of guns throughout the country, a reduction of uniformed police and an increase of neighborhood watch-type groups, and a renewed commitment to oppose militarism in all aspects of life. The Killadonian Defense Party Ideology: Far-right to right Government Priorities: Funding of a standing military, the introduction of a compulsory conscription program, privatization of the economy, and reduced spending for the environment and social welfare Edit: This is simply an outline for now; I'll add more later.
