A TV broadcast is initiated whereby Minister of Environmental affairs, Jonathan Paulus, of Free Burgher appears...

The unsustainable nature of conventional energy generation methods is becoming a big reality for our country. It is becoming more of a dilemma than a conversation piece.

Free Burgher therefore proposes that we hold an energy summit with the end goal of finding an alternative energy source or additional sustainable sources so that we may pave a cleaner path of energy generation for the coming generations.

All nations are invited, and welcome to join the summit.

Let us look to the future with the same ingenuity that our forefathers looked to our present.

OOC:
All right. To start this off, all participating please compile an energy plan for your nation. It needn't be lengthy, we only need info pertaining to your current energy generation and future developments. Shall we post it in the fact book section?
After that the official summit can begin and we can debate the future of our region's energy.

Virtually all of the power in Killadonia is generated by wind turbines and solar collectors, though there are a few geothermal collection facilities as well. It's an expensive endeavor, but the environment is of the utmost concern to the Killadonian people.

Novo Canuckia, although currently entangled in a struggle of the selection of a new monarch, [see upcoming News Network post] will be represented by the Assistant Secretary to the deputy minister of energy and environment, Katerina Jacobowsky. While normally a conference of this nature would be attended by the minister himself, it seems the minister, his deputy, and all their senior secretaries were "unavoidably detained" in returning from vacation to various tropical locations upon being contacted by the prime minister...

Novo Canuckia is home to a series of large, modern nuclear [fission] power plants as well as a number of small Hydroelectric dams. Many of Canuckia's islands are powered separately by wind turbines, which can also be found less frequently along the mainland coast. In addition, government-owned construction agencies (as well as the few private companies of this sort) install solar panels into the roofs of any new structures unless circumstances prevent their safe use. (ex: houses in alpine areas with high snowfall) Private structures which produce more more power than is used by the structure (through environmentally friendly means) sell power to the government for a modest amount of money.

Great Franconia and Verana has a booming energy sector, either varying forms of energy production. Most of the power for The nation comes through a series of hydroelectric dams, and, to a lesser extent, Nuclear power plants.

However, Franconia also has very large oil reserves, much of which is undeveloped. Studies show that only 20% of the countries oil is being exploited, still a vast quantity.

On the municipal level, several large cities have begun to encourage and promote solar power, while also looking into other green possibilities.
