January 2nd, 2179, in the court yard of Biltmore Estate in North Carolnia "Ahem, when father handed over the throne, when I was only 23, he asked of only two things, those would be 'Keep the Kingdom alive, and keep her expanding.' I had promised my father this, and I intend to carry through with it. Today, on the 2nd of January, Astoria will not expand by land, but will expand to the stars! We will be the first nation to put a man on the moon, since the Americans did it in 1972 with Eugene Cernan and Ronald Evans. We will colonize the moon!" Edited by Astoria, Apr 30 2016, 09:46 PM.

February 10th, 2179 Project Orion ANASA Headquarters, Westminster D.C. King Edward walked into the conference room, and sat down with the head scientists and engineers in aviation in the country. "Hello boys, I'm going to make this quick. The Federal government will be pulling out files for NASA's SLS rocket and Orion space capsule. With your intelligent minds, it shouldn't take long to recreate this lefter technology. One last thing, it shall be named Genesis. Testing will take place in a remote facility in Western Ohio. I want the best pilots we have out of the Air Force to go on the mission, I wan't them to go through the best training facility we got. We won't lose a man in space...God Speed men!" After giving instructions the King left and the scientists got to work... Edited by Astoria, Apr 30 2016, 09:46 PM.

April 2nd, 2179 Project Orion ANASA Testing Facility After gaining blueprints from NASA's old headquarters in Westminster D.C., and moths of planning, the Orion deep space module has started production. It would months longer before testing would actually occur on the spacecraft. May 7th, 2179 Orion 1 ANASA Launch facility, Wallops Island, Virginia After months of rushing to get the Orion built, it was time to field test the module. It would be carried into space by a Delta IV heavy rocket, and the mission would last about 100 minutes. The mission would test the Orion's internal batteries and it's 3 stage parachute capable of withstanding deep space reentry.Christopher Tucker and Albert Klein are the Astronauts chosen by Astoria's Astronaut Candidate Program for the job. ![]() Orion 1 taking off Edited by Astoria, Apr 30 2016, 06:39 PM.

May 7th, 2179 Update #1, Captain Christopher Tucker "Control, this Tucker reporting. The Orion 1 has been in space for ~30 minutes at an ALT of 200 miles, and everything seems to be working perfectly. The on-board batteries also seem to be working optimally. At ~60 minutes we should reach an ALT of 235 miles, which is 16 miles above where the ISS was located. This will be the fastest reentry by any space-vehicle, including the Apollo missions. The on-board computers are correct, as they are saying we will be reentering Earth's atmosphere at ~Mach 26. Klein and I have nothing left to report. Tucker out." ![]() Orion 1 in orbit |

May 7th, 2179 Update #2 Captain Christopher Tucker "Control, this is Tucker, coming in for our second mission report, we have reached the designated ALT of 230 miles, and we are beginning decent thrust now. All on-board systems are working at 100%. Ah...Scratch that...the heating element within the ship seems to be malfunctioning, it's getting pretty cold in here, thermostat says 55 degrees, 15 degrees under the set temperature. Other than that, we're still going good 71 minutes into the flight. Tucker signing off." |

May 7th, 2179 Update #3, Captain Christopher Tucker "Control, Captain Tucker reporting for final update. We are traveling at Mach 26 towards the Earth currently, all systems seem to be running optimally. The Orion has passed the on-board electronics test, now time to field test the parachutes. Heating element is still non-functional, and temperature has reached 45 degrees. Other than that, everything is working. Flight, we are a go for reentry. Computers are reporting that will enter the Earth atmosphere in T-minus 120 seconds. Tucker signing off. |

May 7th, 2179 Control room to Orion "Orion 1, this is flight control. We have miscalculated, and you will be heading into a strong storm. This will not effect how you land, the parachutes were designed to withstand this. But it will effect where you land. Instead of the Atlantic, west of Britain, the 70 mph winds will carry you into the Mediterranean. We will report as soon as we have a solution." Edited by Astoria, May 1 2016, 01:27 AM.

May 8th, 2179 Control room to Orion "Control to Orion, there is nothing we can do about your landing, but we suggest ripping the Astorian flag patches off of your spacesuit. If you encounter Axis forces, do not let them know what country from which you reside, if worst come to worst, tell them you are Bokonist. There should be 3 days worth of MRE's in the rear hatch of capsule. Don't worry about sinking either, the Orion can stay afloat for a week, plus there is an emergency raft in the code red hatch. Included in there is are two glock 17's with 3 magazines each. We will be sending an emergency team to recovery you as fast as possible. God speed men." ![]() Orion 1 over Mediterranean |

May 8th, 2179 Control to Orion "Orion, this is control, we have a feature we have not told you about. Behind the Code Red hatch, there should be a switch, this will give give you invisibility. We don't know if it will work or not, but it is worth a shot. We wan't you to push the switch immediately, do not let the Orion hit the ground." "You got it , Klein, flick the switch behind the Code Red hatch!" he replied. And he did that exactly. As Klein hit the switch, the entire spacecraft exploded, completely annihilating every piece of equipment with in the craft. The fiery husk plunged into the ocean.... June 20th, 2179 Orion II ANASA Launch facility, Wallops Island, Virginia Besides being shot out of the sky, the last Orion mission was a success. It was now time to test the heat shield, and and the habitat system (MPV) that would be attached onto the control module, giving the Orion the capability to carry 6 astronauts. Included in this MPV would be, a treadmill, a full kitchen, a bathroom, and upright sleeping bag are. On the flight, astronauts Brian Pittman, Gordon Henderson, David Frank, and Captain Glen Carlson. To gain the th desired speed to field test the extremely thin/light heat shield, the Orion II would have to orbit the moon, and full throttle out of it's orbit. The gravity from the moon will give the crew a slingshot effect as the throttle out, making their reentry speed at about Mach 35. This would be a world record reentry. The heat the crew will be facing would approximately be around 5,500 degrees Fahrenheit. This launch would also field test the SLS (Space Launch System). The entire round trip should take 6-7 days. ![]() Orion II preparing for liftoff (Don't mind the American Flags) Edited by Astoria, May 1 2016, 07:37 PM.

June 21st, 2179 Daily Report #1, Captain Glen Carlson "Flight, this is the Orion, coming in for the daily report. It has been a full day in orbit, and will be thrusting out of orbit after this revolution. All systems are working optimally, and the crew still seems enthusiastic. We have opened up the MPV, and Henderson is preparing something in the kitchen are now. Crew has nothing left to report. Carlson signing off." |

June 22nd, 2179 Daily Report #2, Captain Glen Carlson "Flight, this is the Orion reporting. All systems still seem to be running optimally, and the MPV is working wonderfully!. It makes this spacecraft feel like home, but better because we don't have out wives nagging at us! I'm just jokin', but within 25 minutes we are going to enter the van allen belt. We have our radiation suits on like you guys asked, in case the protection can't hold up against that much radiation. Anyways the crew has nothing left to report, Carlson signing off." ![]() Orion II with MPV Edited by Astoria, May 1 2016, 09:07 PM.
