![]() -PROJECT ARES- Before nuclear fire rained from the sky, bringing a scorching hot atomic death for billions across the Earth, Humanity had it's sights aimed towards the skies... Mars, Earth's red neighbor, had been a goal of many nations, but none were ever able to capture it, for the war drew their resources away from such aims. The Federation, along with Astoria, seek to complete the work of their predecessor: land on Mars. Using their combined resources and funding, both nations will cooperate on a broad scale to put humans on the moon, and they will not accept failure. |

February 21st, 2201 Cape Alexander, New California Dr. Ryan Lewis The large auditorium was filled with scientists, mechanics, politicians, press, and military officials alike - everyone had heard the news, and now, Project Ares was about to start. Ryan sat among these men on a collapsible metal chair as an older man, dressed in a lab coat, stepped up to the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen... the Astorians have successfully send a manned orbiting shuttle around the Earth's orbit - something we've already successfully done, but this marks progress. It is through this announcement that we have decided to move foreword and jump start 'Project Ares' - ladies and gentlemen, we're going to Mars." The crowd erupted into claps and cheers - it was exciting, to say the least. "Believe it or not, friends, we're closer than you may think - the technology in at our fingertips, it is only a matter of harnessing that power and using it to propel us into the stars." The room, once again, erupted into claps. The time was now. (Sorry, short post) |
