I am a Ignorant Nazi Ass

5 reasons Byrnes must stay in Arizona.

1. He is the only guy that casual fans of this ball club can name, and is a high profile guy with fox sports and the baseball media.

2. He has been the MVP of this club no doubt.

3. He plays with passion, something that the rest of the team should learn to do.

4. He leads our club in every offensive statistic well not in HR but he is right behind Young.

5. He plays everyday.

Resign Byrnes campaign is underway!

Would you be willing to pay him 5/45?

He's willing to take a hometown discount.

Hopefully it wont take 9 million a year though <_<

Hometown discount? I take it you haven't see this yet then? (unless something more recent has come about it?)

Byrnes, D-Backs break off talks

MILWAUKEE - After talks about a contract extension between Eric Byrnes and the Diamondbacks broke off Wednesday night, the outfielder sounded resigned to the fact that he won't be in Arizona beyond this season.

"Is the door closed? No," he said. "But it's barely cracked open."

What Byrnes is seeking and what the Diamondbacks were offering apparently were two very different things, and less than a month after the team approached its free-agent-to-be outfielder about a new deal, the sides tabled talks until the end of the season.

But even then, neither Byrnes nor Diamondbacks General Manager Josh Byrnes seemed all that optimistic about either side's position changing enough for a deal to get done.

Link.

Ughhh... I guess the Front Office is waiting to see if he has another 2nd half collapse.

I hope it dosen't backfire because he's leading the league in Stolen Bases in games played after the allstar break

Look at the bright side, if you don't resign him you'll probably get to see him 19 times a season still.

(I'm guessing the Giants would at least talk with him. It's not a good fit but the Giants like overpaying for vets to multi year contracts. Plus Byrnes grew up a Giant fan)

I've had that odd feeling Byrnes just might play for the Giants next season. I hope it dosen't happen..

If you think it's bad with Byrnes check this:

PHOENIX (AP) — Randy Johnson will undergo season-ending back surgery, Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin said Friday.

It marks the second year in a row that the Big Unit has had an operation on his troublesome back. It will be the third back operation of his career.

``He tried to work his way through it,'' Melvin said, ``but it just didn't get any better.''

The 43-year-old left-hander was traded to the Diamondbacks from the New York Yankees in the offseason, and the four-time Cy Young Award winner made his way back to the rotation after extensive rehabilitation. He had several strong starts but struggled in his later outings, then he was diagnosed with a herniated disk.

Melvin said the operation would take place next Friday in Los Angeles.
