They still have Lighty, Butler, and Hunter returning. Koufos should provide a lot of scoring, but I'm expecting another deep tourney run in 2009. BJ Mullens and Koufos are going to be a deadly tandem.

I'm going to miss Ron Lewis though :(

Well I've watched 4 of the 6 games this season, and I'm a little disappointed in Kosta Koufos. However, he has the huge task of trying to fill the shoes of Greg Oden.

The thing this team needs right now is offense, and hopefully each game Jon Diebler can provide a little spark just like he did last night against UNC.

I think the Buckeyes will get better as the season progresses and I fully expect them to be competing for the Big 10 championship, and hopefully they'll earn at least a 4 seed for the tournament.

Bucks are 9 and 3 going into Big Ten play. They open up in Champagne next Thursday, and then they host Northwestern and Iowa before traveling to Purdue.

After the matchup with Purdue, the Buckeyes have their toughest two-game stretch of the season. In East Lansing, and at Tennessee. Both games I think the Buckeyes will be able to matchup well with the opposing team, but I really can see them upsetting Tennessee. The two teams have developed somewhat of a non-conference rivalry after two amazing games last season including the memorable comeback in the tournament in which the Buckeyes once trailed by 22. I think Ohio State can matchup with the Vols because I see David Lighty having the ability to defend Chris Lofton, and the Buckeyes will be able to generate a lot of points in the paint with their big men against an undersized Tennessee front court.

So far, the Buckeyes have done just about what I expected them to do. Looking at a middle of the pack tournament seed right now in the 7-6 range. Hopefully they can improve on that and sneak into the Top 25 sometime near the end of the season.
