Bush hasn't experienced the speed of the NFL LB coming out of the backfield.  He's only experienced it coming off of a screen pass.  If Deuce wasn't giving the production that he is, Bush would be getting more carries, but until then they share the ball 70/30.

Deuce is expected to leave after this season. So Bush is expected to get more carries next year, yet the Saints decide to draft Antonio Pittman in the 3rd round of the draft. (They did cut him but that is beside my point.) Pittman is in the same mold as Deuce was when the Saints drafted him. I'm not saying the Saints don't believe in Bush's ability to run the ball, but Pittman in the 3rd round is a little high. Look at Addai, Maroney, Jones-Drew, and now Peterson all 2nd year/rookie runningbacks that put up good numbers, despite sharing carries. Bush had more carries than Deuce in week one, but had less yards. Bush will never be a complete back because he can't be a grinder.

They said the same thing about Marshall Faulk. ;)

Well, in Marshall's rookie season he averaged 4.1 yards per carry, Bush averaged 3.6. ;)

3.6 is not bad for rookies. Considering he got very little carries from behind the line.

Give him time. He has the mold of a Faulk circa STL. A blend of RB/WR.

Or he can be of the mold of Ki-Jana Carter.

Or he can be of the mold of Ki-Jana Carter.

Ki-Jana Karter was built as a bruiser with fast legs. He was supposed to be Earl Campbell esque. No one will be Earl Campbell like. Bush was billed as this generations Barry Sanders. While I scoff at that, but I do see him being more of a Marshall Faulk in production, only if they had better support in the WR position. They have Colston, but they need a true burner like Holt, or a dependable guy like Bruce.

Anywho, this thread is about the Texans.

Woot, you won a game?

To get back on topic, lets play a game. Who is the next safety the Texans lose to a season-ending injury?

[A]C.C Brown
Von Hutchins
[c]Michael Boulware
[D]These are the only three left on our team.

Redfox, do you want Mario's two sacks or Reggie Bush's 3.2 yards per carry?

In that game, I'd take the sacks, but in a career I'd take Bush as my Franchise player out of the 2

Why? Jacoby Jones is just as good of receiver as Bush.

But, Bush is also a Runningback. That combo of being able to rush for yards and catch for yards is deadly.

Jacoby Jones caught 2passes today ^_^

Bush is a runningback? I have yet to see him be able to run the ball. When Reggie Bush actually is able to run the ball up the middle, then he will be a runningback. Right now he is an overhyped receiving threat out of the backfield. Jacoby Jones got one pass for 26 yards on a 3 and 10 play, and had another 7 yard reception. (Jones also ran the ball for 4 yards on one carry.) Reggie Bush caught 4 passes for 7 yards, and ran the ball 12 times for 32 yards. So lets do some math, Jones touched the ball 3 times and had 37 total yards. Reggie Bush touched the ball 16 times for 39 total yards. Jones averaged 12.3 yards per touch, Bush averaged 2.4 yards per touch. Bush has a full season under his belt, plus played at USC so more pro-level competition than Jones had. Jones played in his first game, didn't even start. Now let me ask you something, would you rather have a 3rd round player that puts up equal stats or a 2nd overall pick who puts up equal stats? The Texans found a mid round player to be a Reggie Bush type of player, the Texans couldn't find a complete defensive end to demand Mario Williams presence on that line.

Reggie Bush is a RB, is it his fault theirs another option no it's not. Just wait, once Bush is a starter the numbers will be their both rushing/recieving.

Bush had more carries than Deuce though. MJD had Fred Taylor last year, he put up numbers. Joseph Addai had Dominic Rhodes last year, he put up numbers. I don't get your point. Bush gets more touches than Deuce and is basically a starter.

Speaking of safeties, the Texans signed Will Demps. We now have three safeties that can't cover.
