when is MLB 08 The Shows cover boy to be announced at?

Going with the theme here, it will be Alex Rodriguez. The companies will just switch NY teams' positions.

Jeter ----> Reyes
Wright ---> A-Rod

Just watch, i wouldn't be suprised.

I think MLB 08 will have it beat this year, again. The PS3 visuals on The Show look really good.

Major League Baseball 2K series has left me feeling sour for the last 2 years. Well, actually since they abandoned the "World Series" name.

I have to say it sounds promising. However I'm not going to get my hopes up for an amazing game, although I do expect MLB 2K8 to play better than 2K7 and provide a realistic, fun sim experience. The introduction of Minor League teams will help a lot. I'm a bit disappointed that Jon and Joe are back, but hopefully the commentary has been cleaned up, like Brinkman said.

ESPN Baseball 2K4 was a solid game. I can only remember two major glitches and it was you could never rob home runs or do double switches.

It played well for the XBOX though and looked good. It's all been going downhill since.

Im glad to hear that the game will be running at 60 fps. I have been thinking about trading in my Xbox 360 for a while seeing I already burnt one out and get the feeling that the new one I have now is about to do the same. And seeing it won't all of a sudden read my hard drive now. It pisses me off. But it seems like everytime I hear about a review of a PS3 game, it always talks about framerate issues or what not. I guess what I need is an opinon from a PS3 owner to know if this is really worth the trade in or not.

Honestly, the framerate doesnt bother me. Noticable? Yes. Bothersome? No. It never really interrupts the flow of the game, and it doesnt really bother me.

Also, someone at my school told me that the reason that PS3 games run at only 30 FPS is because there was too much trouble in making it 60FPS for the reason that they didnt think it would work. Ubisoft then made Call of Duty4 at 60FPS for the PS3, and it ran perfectly. I guess this then changed the mindset of the companies, and they are all making PS3 games in 60FPS.

If that's true, then the 360 has NOTHING on the PS3. Even the prices are dropped.

To get a game to run at 60FPS is a goal that development teams have from the start. It's the amount of given time, and/or if it makes sense in the long run. If you have a high paced game, yes it does make sense to have 60fps, but if too much is going on and 60 isn't achievable, teams will go for a solid 30fps, much like Bungie did with Halo 3.

If 30fps isn't bothersome, look at Madden NFL 2008 in comparison PS3/Xbox 360. Or even MLB 2K7 on either system. The chugging was down right appalling.

It's been a given that the PS3 is more powerful than the Xbox 360. The thing is, PS3 developers need to get better, sooner with the dev kits. Sony also needs to stop putting pressure on devs to make the "it" game NOW. There is COST in developing games, and smaller companies don't have that kind of money.

See, i have Madden 08, and my friend has MLB 2k7, and it dosent bother either one of us. Like I said, we notice it, but it dosent change our experience.

I am pumped for it to be at 60FPS, mainly because it shuts up all the people who say the PS3 sucks because it runs at 30FPS, and also because it makes it look visually better not seeing it stutter every now and again, but for me and my friends, its not that big of a deal to the actual gameplay.

So are you saying that trading in my 360 for a PS3 would be a good move in the long run. All I know is I really want to play Metal Gear Solid the day it comes out and that is a big factor for me.

No, saving your money and buying a PS3 to compliment your 360 would be a good idea.
