I think we are all the group of "smarter" people from 2K. I would say most of us are in the upper 3rd of our class here. |

If your school is low echelon, I'd highly suggest taking advantage of that opportunity with your GPA. There are a few reasons I wouldn't wing it until the ACT: 1) It's one test... if you do bad, then what? 2) You're likely not receiving standard education from your school considering its rank (I hope that's not the case, but that's what I'm led to believe)... so you have to take into account the students of your school most likely aren't as prepared for this test as students from all the other schools in your state... In that case, I wouldn't rely on a disadvantage to receive the type of collegiate education you covet |

I didn't get super-great grades in high school, not because I was lazy...I just knew that high school grades meant nothing, for me, so I just had fun. I still graduated with a 3.0 in mostly Honors/AP classes, but that's really not difficult, since (unfortunately) high schools seem to award grades on effort, and not knowledge, which is the exact opposite of real life. Anyway, the point is...the best course of action is to make the most of your time in high school and have fun, do 2 years at a community college, and then transfer to a university. |

That's what I'm doing. It's not possible for me to get into the school I want to out of high school, so I might as well just settle for a JC for two years then go to the school I really want to. Plus I'll still have 8 semesters of tuition money from the government then.
