What has gotten into Drake?

The Drake Bulldogs have been the perrenial punching bags for the Missouri Valley Conference for decades, not making the NCAA Tournament since 1971. Last year, Drake was the oldest team in College Basketball. And still finished 9th in their Conference. They lost nearly every player including all their starters to graduation. Their coach retired.

Add to the fact they have 2 walk-ons in their starting lineup this season. This has got to be one of the worst teams in all of College Basketball, right?

The Bulldogs have streaked their way to a 16-1 record, undefeated in the Missouri Valley, into College Basketball's biggest surprise by a longshot. Drake has won 15 in a row- their most in program history. All this with their leading scorer getting hurt.

Drake is the 2nd ranked team in the nation in causing turnovers and the 23rd ranked team in the nation at Offensive Efficiency.

How did this all change? And why isn't it getting significantly more national media attention?

Yeah, he does. Look at his shooting percentages. LMFAO

Anyways, Drake is now ranked 23rd/22nd in the nation. They won a huge contest today on the road at Creighton in Overtime in a thriller. 16 wins in a row for the best story in College Basketball this year. Next 3 games are against teams in the upper echelon of the 2008 Missouri Valley Conference, so I doubt this streak reaches an unimaginable 20.
