I've been to 100+ games and four different stadiums.

However, my most memorable game would have been in 2003, at Safeco. Me and my dad went to a Sunday night game, on ESPN, and I had called in sick that day to go to the game. Where I worked at was really swamped that weekend and I had to act really sick to get out of going.

So, me and my dad sat two rows up directly behind Jacque Jones then, in right. Bret Boone crushes a ball right our way and Jones barely misses robbing it as it flies into my mit.

Not five minutes later I get a call. My boss saying he just saw me on ESPN. The following week was horrible.

I've got lots of BP and foul balls, but that was the only home run ball I've caught in over 10 years.

:rotfl: You get fired?

We have known jrmy for what... 21 months? And he NEVER told us his dad played for the Athletics in that span.

I dunno, never really came up or had a reason to randomly tell everyone.

While I was first reading it, and you said Sunday Night game, I thought you were leading into the Mariners-Indians game where the Indians made the biggest comeback in MLB History since that involved the Mariners and was a SNB game. Then, I remembered it was in Cleveland.

Kenny Lofton scored the game winning run that game...

That game sucked.

Had the M's held on for that win, they would have won 117 games, which would have given them the sole record and not a tie at 116 with the White Sox.

-_-

White Sox won 116 games? I thought it was the Cubs...

EDIT: Yep, it was the Cubs in 1906.

tinker-to-evers-to-chance

They had the best winning pct. in Regular Season History which still stands today. Unfortunately, they lost their competitive edge in the World Series that year. Hmmm... seems to have happened to all Cubs Postseason teams since then no matter what the Regular Season record indicates, doesn't it?

My dad pitched with a guy named Ken Dayley in high school where he grew up in The Dalles, Oregon.

Both Ken and my dad were apart of the 1976 and 1977 starting rotation that won two state titles.

Ken Dayley played for the Cardinals and Jays before retiring after 10 years cause he got major headaches when he flew in airplanes, I've met him a few times. My dad played two years of college ball and then got caught up in cocaine which ended that dream.
