I guess the Best Actress one wouldn't be that bad given the other nominees, although Linney and Cotliard have just as good of a case and it would also be understandable if they pulled a Paul Newman/Color of Money with Cate Blanchett
Honestly, it'll be Christie. Part of which why I don't watch any of the awards other than the Grammys now for Music.

RTT, No Country for Old Men is the better movie than There Will Be Blood. TWBB was a great movie, but doesn't have the originality that NCFOM. TWBB takes a page from Citizen Kane.

They are both fantastic movies but really, I'd say I'm bias because anything Daniel Day Lewis is in, I get so involved with the character and it makes the movie better for myself.
Either way, both movies are deserving.

Best Picture and Best Actress in a Leading Role.
If it wins either of those I might have to stop watching movies for some time.
Man I hope you never become a movie critic. Juno was a great movie, and Ellen Page nailed her role amazingly.
It was not a "great movie". It was a mediocre and quite funny movie that gets by solely on the novelty of the situation happening to suburban white folk instead of the standard inner-city black folk. As for Ellen Paige, if by "nailed her role amazingly" you mean "made made the standard sarcastic comments" then yeah, you're absolutely right there. There is absolutely nothing special about the movie itself or any of the performances in it. It's generated so much hype because of the one quirk in the plot that no one even cares that its an entire movie based off of what is usually a lame subplot in teenage "hood" dramas.
Yep, bring race into this.
-_-
It's all a bunch of "what ifs". :sarcasm: If Juno was resembled in a black community, it wouldn't have gotten national attention. But then again, if my aunt had a package, she'd be my uncle. "what if what if what if"
I have a feeling if this movie was about a black chick that got knocked up, it WOULD make the news as being racist.

Oh, I agree with you. DDL killed it as Daniel Plainview. I love both movies as well. DDL better win for best male lead. Really, tonight it is Milkshakes vs Coin flips tonight.

If DDL doesn't win best actor, I'm never watching the Oscars again. Plain and simple, best performance of the year.

Don't be surprised if George Clooney wins it all. Oscar loves George.
