I'm a lead farmer, motherf...

Is there any better feeling than when this issue is in your mailbox? Is there any better indication that it's baseball time? How about spring?

I love this issue. Some of the highlights, if you don't get it (and I highly suggest, if you're any kind of real baseball fan, you do):
-The preview feature, by the baseball writing genious that is Tom Verducci, is about the 2005 draft, particularly Troy Tulowitzki. There are also shorter features on Cameron Maybin, Ryan Braun, Jay Bruce, Ryan Zimmerman, and Justin Upton. Verducci also did a Yankees-Red Sox draft battle feature.

-SI picks the Yanks to win the AL East (two games ahead of Boston), Detroit the Central (by a game over Cleveland), and the Halos in the West. In the NL it's the Mets, Cubs and Rockies. The Wild Card teams are Boston and Arizona (missed the West by a game).

-The World Series prediction is Tigers over Cubs (they don't give games this year).

-The Team previews are awesome as always.

-And, of course, there are a ton of other things in the magazine. But really, who cares? IT'S BASEBALL SEASON!!!!!

I don't break character until after the DVD commentary

It's nice to know that the Tigers will not be winning the World Series this year.

I got Alicia Sacramone

They did a little blurb on Alexei. And again, they compared him to Soriano with less power, less speed, but a better glove, arm, and a lot more contact (.335 career hitter).

They predict the Twins as the cellar dwellers of the Central. Haha.

Is everything done by Verducci? No Heyman, right?

Is it really out of the realm of possibility?

Heck no. They have a stud in Adam Dunn, and some nice complementary offensive tools around him like Griffey and Phillips. If the Keppingers and Encarnacions repeat what they did last year offensively for a year, and Votto gets more playing time than Corey Patterson, their offense is dangerous. They also have a solid ace in Harang, and some young studs around him.
