Then how did you have a bad day in the field if they didn't count?

So long, and thanks for all the fish...

All of my friends who wanted to play softball this year backed out, so I just play on my dad's work-league softball team, second base. Last night was my first game of the year. Nothing exciting.

5 grounders were hit anywhere near me, and only 3 of them were playable, and I fielded all 3 cleanly...woo-hoo. The most exciting play of the game was when their only lefty hitter hit an amazingly high flyball that was in shallow right field, and our right fielder sucked, so I went all the way out and made the play. It wasn't some crazy-ridiculous gold glove play, but it was still a good play, if I can say that about myself. I went 3-for-4 with a walk. My first hit was terrible, right off the end of the bat, but I got a lucky bloop single over the first basemans head. My next hit was a line drive to left-center. Then I walked. Then I got my third hit on another lucky one to center field. And then I finally made good contact and drove one to the fence in right field, which shocked me, since I'm a righty...but their stupid right fielder caught it. I was dissapointed, since that was the only time I actually made good contact.

I got batting practice and a scrimmage game Monday night, so we shall see how I really do against a team outside of my own. Im hoping for at least 3 hits out of my 4-5 atbats. I dont know if we play 7 or 9 innings, and I dont know how many batters we have.

Went 1 for 4 in our abreviated doubleheader. Our second game was called due to lightning, just before I led-off the last inning.

That makes me 7 for 16 (.438) since my crappy 0-fer.

I bought a new glove today, too. The leather in my old Louisville Slugger OPX dried out and started cracking. Bought a Rawlings Pro Preferred PROS12IC in a great tan-black color scheme. It's beautiful.

Got my scrimmage game tomorrow following batting practice. I think I am hitting somewhere near the middle of the lineup 3-6. There is a rule where we have to have the lineup go guy-girl-guy-girl with guys only batting back-to-back once in the lineup. So that most likely means 3rd and 4th are guys. So I imagine I hit 3rd, 4th, or 6th.

Oh what a stupid rule, I had to do that in PE. I always hated it because it's basically an automatic out.

Softball would be a much easier league to join. I can't wait until college. I am going to play at least 2-3 of the intermural sports. Im going to do kickball, slowpitch softball, and maybe Ultimate Frizbee or flag football.
