Still, with Michael Bourn struggling at the plate I'd like to have a backup plan. Erstad can't start, Cruz Jr. can't hit, and we don't have any OF prospects who could come in and steal playing time from Bourn. |

I'd re-trade. I'm not too fond of Villareal, but I'd take him, and that'd get Jones up in the majors. Edited by sportslover, Mon Jun 2, 2008 9:25 pm.

Who cares. His 20 HR don't count now because of the park he plays in. |

No, but it is different to hit a HR at Coors than it is at Petco. Sheesh. |

I hate how scouts and the idiots at ESPN like Steve Phillips use the phrase, "the sound that came off the bat when he hit it was different", or something like that, when talking about what they saw when watching/scouting a certain very good hitter. The phrase is so stupid and similar to "the good face". Phillips said it when talking about Jay Bruce. Okay. Might that not be because that player hits the ball hard and makes solid contact because he's good at hitting? I really doubt that these players have a certain nucleotide in their DNA that makes the sound that comes off their different or special. |
