Is it generally best not to work out if you feel muscle soreness or does it not make a difference either way? I hear both and just wanted to know wtf is the truth.

If it's a light sore then you should keep going. If the sore gets so big that you can't do anymore then you should stop.

The sore shows that your muscles are strengthening.

Alright, Docta has spoken, close the thread.

Yeah. Unless you can barely move, continue. That way you build more muscle stamina. Or else you'll be feeling like this everytime you work out.

I don't break character until after the DVD commentary

You're supposed to keep going until you pass out from fatigue.

Yep, you work through the soreness. As Docta said, being sore means you have expanded the muscle tissue further than it normally is, and that means you are working them to stay at the new expansion. Its just like when you take out your gum and stretch it. It is tight, but you pull it and it starts to contract back, but it stays stretched out some. That's what you do with your muscles basically.

Ah ok, because I hear people saying you can seriously destroy your muscle tissue if you have soreness and still work out, I thought it sounded absurd and I am starting to think it is but I have to be very cautious for these couple of weeks.

Well you certainly don't want to push it too far and tear anything either.

When you feel soreness, your muscles are rebuilding themselves. When you work out, you are breaking down the muscle tissue, and then the muscles need to time to heal and rebuild.
