Well all he has too do out west is beat out Seattle and Texas

and the Angels payroll is high, and they win almost every year

those are his negatives

but i mean he has absolutely nobody, and everyone leaves or is traded, and still they win

Giambi, Tejada, Mulder, Hudson, Zito, Byrnes, Haren...and on and on

but he can see good young talent better than anyone, and thats why the A's are good

Walt Jocketty is kinda that way, but he will pay a certain few players because ownership gives him the money.

In 1999, the Rangers were a good team. Since '99, Seattle has won +90 games 4 times and won 89 games another year.

Since 1999:

Divisions won-
Oakland: 4
Angels- 3

Playoff berths-
Oakland- 5
Angels- 4

That is incorrect.

those are his negatives

And both are things he has no control over.

Your extreme love for Billy Beane concerns and confuses me.
See: Oakland Athletics rank in winning % from 1999*-2007 compared to their rank in payroll.

There is no sort of confusion to be had here. It's clear who the best GM in baseball is (of course, that's an opinion, but everyone can agree he's been a top 3 GM in baseball ever since he took charge of the A's, even the people that hate the movement that he's brought to baseball).

* He got there in '97, but '97 and '98 were transition years and it wasn't really Billy's team.
There is no sort of confusion to be had here.

I guess you haven't seen Employee of the Month. Carry on.

There are these 2 guys who work together, and are close friends with one of them (Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite) being the bitch of the other one (Dax Shepard). The main character Zach (Dane Cook) says "Jorge, your love for him both concerns and confuses me". Or something to that effect. Anywho......
