More confirmation, this time from MSNBC.com: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/25694982/

"Before 2003, it alternated between the leagues without regard to any accomplishment on the field."

Didn't he do the same to Uggla, too? Or was that Sherrill? I can't remember.

Also, from wikipedia (the first thing I could find confirming this): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_field_advantage#Gaining.2Flosing_home-field_advantage

"Prior to 2003, home-field advantage alternated each year between the National League and the American League."
Ah ok.

And SL, I wasnt saying they SHOULD do it that way, I was just asking if they did do it that way. Appearantly, however, they didn't.

I know you weren't. I was just saying making the 7th game "fair" is pretty impossible. Why don't they decide it through interleague? The league that has the better record in interleague gets HFA. Way better than using one exhibition game to decide it.

That is exactly what I was going to say. If you did the game7 thing, how would you decide where they play the first 6?

AL
AL
NL
NL
NL
AL
Random

?? And then have THAT alternate every year?

Shit, that's true. You could have the whole series be neutral? That would never happen, and it would screw the fans.

The most logical way would be to decide it through Inter-league. If we're going to have it, then it might as well have a purpose.
