Smart move by the Angels not to overpay for a closer. This guy is going to be overpaid like hell in the off-season. Where will he go? (Yankees)

Throw Your Diamonds In The Air`!

He's going to bring in an unbelievable amount of money. I can't wait to see how much it'll be.

I dont think he will want to go back to being a setup man

So i dont see him going to the yankees

Hes gonna go where ever the $$ is at and a team that lets him be the closer

If Wagner retires, I could see him going to the Mets.

If not, maybe somewhere like Detroit or Cleveland.

No way he goes to Cleveland. They'd never overpay for a closer. They don't have the money, either. Plus, we don't know if they'll see themselves as contenders heading into next year.

As for Detroit, that'd be a good fit. Todd Jones fucking sucks.

Who knows about Detroit, though. They always have Zoom, and they could chose to stick him in the Bullpen Ace role.

That's the make or break IMO.

I think they'd pay the money if they have a good team. They don't really have anyone in the farms suited for that role in the near future. I mean right now, they have some 35 year old Jap.

Depends though, like you say, will they be contenders.

I don't think so. They don't have the resources to throw away $15+ mil on a closer. It'd be stupid, and these aren't the Mariners we're talking about (ZING!).

Zumaya's been the leader to take over the closer role from Jones when he's done for a while now. They got this guy in the minors/majors though who's been doing well though who might take it. Can't remember his name though. Haven't payed that close attention to the Tigers this year.

True.

Shit, maybe Seattle will sign him for 6 years, at 70 million. Then, he can blow his elbow by next years all star break.
