Plus, we don't know if they'll see themselves as contenders heading into next year.
That's the make or break IMO.

I think they'd pay the money if they have a good team. They don't really have anyone in the farms suited for that role in the near future. I mean right now, they have some 35 year old Jap.

Depends though, like you say, will they be contenders.
I don't think so. They don't have the resources to throw away $15+ mil on a closer. It'd be stupid, and these aren't the Mariners we're talking about (ZING!).
True.

Shit, maybe Seattle will sign him for 6 years, at 70 million. Then, he can blow his elbow by next years all star break.
Yeah, him and Putz (what's up with his injury, anyways) can combine for 60 saves, aka all of the team's wins.

Alright, I get it. Seattle blows. :disgust:

Putz has something sore in his right elbow, nothing big. He's suppose to be back in a week I think. Morrow is doing better than he did anyways, so I hope he stays on the DL.

Hell while we're at it, make their owner Arte Moreno into a utility player and trade him to the Mets to play LF everyday

I can see the Mets, even if Wagner doesn't retire. They'd move Wags to setup (he might not like it, but...)

He's been threatening to retire for a few years now.

I could see him throwing a huge fit if he had to pitch setup.

And the Mets would end up getting exactly what they want then.
