Do you feel this would just be an average movie if it wasn't for The Joker?

I loved the movie, but I think the only reason I love it is because of The Joker.

No. If it were just Harvey Dent/Two Face, I would have enjoyed it just as much. The Joker just brought the level of insanity to a newer level.

No. The movie would have been great regardless of the Joker. To me, the Joker took it to another level. I don't watch a lot of movies, so I'd say this is my fav of all time.

And I'm going to try and watch it again sometime this week. See if I can catch it on imax. How much are imax tickets?

In my area, 15.25 for day shows. 18.25 for night.

Agreed.

Plus, I'm a Batman junky.

Hopefully, going to see it in IMAX friday.

I don't break character until after the DVD commentary

Considering that without the Joker it would have been a completely different movie (Him being the major villain and all), I have no idea how to answer that question.

Replace Heath Ledger with just an average performance.

Great movie. I'm sure it's been said a million times already, but the Joker was amazing. I'll expand on it later on... I need my sleep.

Btw, does anyone think Rachel's death was foreshadowed? It's a small thing, but the thought just sort of popped into my head on the ride home. Here's the quote:

Quote:

Harvey Dent: You're Alfred, right?
Alfred Pennyworth: That's right, sir.
Harvey Dent: You've known Rachel her entire life.
Alfred Pennyworth: Well, not yet.

Yes, the second time I saw it, I picked up on that. I imagine that was not an accident.

Anyways, time for the review.

As I posted last night (or early this morning), the movie was amazing. Watching Harvey Dent's mental state transform right in front of my eyes was unreal. He really was the "white knight", then he turned into a monster. That hospital scene between Joker and two-face was crazy... I can't even put it into words.

The Joker was played perfectly, couldn't have asked for a better performance. Sick, twisted soul with no goal or purpose... he just enjoyed playing the game. The scene where he burned the money pretty much summed up the Joker as a character.

Christian Bale had a solid performance as Bruce Wayne. Nothing to memorable imo though, just a good all-around act. Bale as Batman was a lot more interesting, and rightfully so, I guess. I liked the jail scene between Joker and Batman. The Joker broke him down and showed that he had the upper hand. Similarly to what he did to that jail guard... "I just want my phone call" .
