Dodgers offense is terrible. Everyone talks about the dbacks pitching but the dodgers is just as good. boras lives in la so he can help keep manny's ego in check. chemistry wont be a problem in hollywood and the dodgers will prevail.
Chemistry is never a problem, so I don't see what you're talking about.

The biggest winner in this deal was the Pirates. They got nearly twice as much as Bay is worth. Huntington stone cold robbed and I think is the next great executive. Pittsburgh will have a playoff contending team by 2011. Pirate fans have to be patient if it's possible as Littlefield left a huge turd for Neal.

I agree. Pirates got a GREAT haul for Bay, and the Red Sox got raped for Manny. The Dodgers were "meh" in this deal.

I agree that Pittsburgh won the deal. The fact that they got so many prospects went nearly unperceived.

You know, it's funny how everyone always turns to ESPN for breaking news and such when actually, they get beat routinely on stuff by SI and Sporting News. Jon Heyman and Tom Verducci are the shit and Buster Olney, while he gets stuff occasionally, is usually last to report.

I dunno if that's the "better to be right than first" mentality, but considering that the SI-duo is usually right on whatever they have first anyway, it doesn't even matter.

Well I'm not as optimistic as you are about the trade, SL. Bay's career numbers against the American League are nothing to be wild about. I would much rather have had the Red Sox deal with Manny for another two months, get their two picks and go after Adam Dunn or Pat Burrell.
Bay's career against the AL? Sample size?

You're still going to get 2 picks for Bay after next season, and I'd rather have a cheap Bay then overpay for Burrel/Dunn, 2 players who will declined quickly.
