For a 2010 2nd Round Pick. I can't believe Gainey used a 2nd Rounder on this... does he not know that he still needs Defense? If he's going to use it on a Forward, he should have used it to acquire Nylander. And for Chicago, my question is their depth up the middle. An injury to Toews, and they're not a Playoff team. I think it's a questionable move on both sides of the spectrum. |

Yea a 2nd rounder is pretty high for this washed up guy. For Chicago not making the playoffs isn't the end of the world. They have a commitment to youth and I would say their target date for a good playoff run is still a few seasons away. |

I'm just completely befuddled for 2 reasons: 1. I honestly think Gainey is oblivious to the fact their Defense needs work. 2. There were better Centers he could have used a 2nd Rounder on that are on the block. How about a player + pick for Michael Nylander? That would have been by far the best fit and a huge addition for the Habs. It's also official they have pulled out of the Sundin sweepstakes. I think Gainey blew it on the offseason that may have been his best chance to win the Stanley Cup. |

We'll see. I still like their addition of Tanguay but as a Leafs fan I hope they blow it ![]() I think Sundin's gonna retire |

At the moment, I think Chicago will miss the Playoffs with or without Lang. I think people are overrating them because they jumped at the excitement of their surprise last season. I think they will contend, but next year is the year where they're finally a force. As for my Canadiens, I don't like how we handled the offseason. Our Defense regressed, and I thought that was the most important part of our team to fix. I would be surprised if we made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Sundin + Defenseman would have been best case scenario. Tanguay + Lang won't make that much an effect unless we have injuries. |
