3 Absolute STEALS by Kenny W.

Brandon McCarthy for John Danks
Chris Carter for Carlos Quentin
Freddy Garcia for Gavin Floyd

The list doesnt end there, & the trades are lower effectiveness. KW has to be in running for exec of the year. Its so hard to make steals like this, & as many as he does. Takes a lot of vision, scouting, baseball knowledge.

I think a lot of it has to relate with their Pitching Coach Don Cooper. Easily one of the best 3 in the game. Not sure if it's his knowledge or he watches a lot of film ahead of time, but he's worked a lot of magic with hopeless wonders. The list is nonstop. Contreras, Floyd, Jenks, Politte, Thornton off the top of my head. Sure he plays a big role in developing and instructing White Sox Pitchers that first get called up to the Big Leagues too.

He's as aggressive as it gets for a General Manager when it comes to making moves. He does a fantastic job for an organization that doesn't produce a lot of topline talent. He doesn't settle for not getting the job done, and doesn't sit back and let nothing happen like many GMs.

Well, he's still usually smart when being aggressive too. For example, 2 years ago when the Nats were trying to trade Soriano. Bowden was asking for the world as Soriano had his highest value ever. Williams was most interested but in the end would only settle if he only gave up x players. Didn't sell a farm for a player that would have signed with their Division rival that offseason!

Now, I'm still not sold he actually knows how to build a team, but he is very skilled at seeking talent and getting what he wants.

He's a very good GM.

With that being said, it's a little early to form an opinion on the CQ trade. For all we know, this is a fluke season, and CC could turn into a HoFer.

The Jermaine Dye signing was great too. At the time, he was highly criticized for getting an injury prone OFer, but little did everyone know Dye's best days were ahead of him and he's have an MVP contending season, World Series MVP, and a couple other solid years. The White Sox would not be in first this year without him.

That front office just needs a top scouting director. They fired theirs last year, so we'll see how the new one does.
