Realistically looking at it, that's a good list. Even though A-Rod this season has been nearly as good as this season when taking defense into account, which no one does, he's not going to win. A good, realistic list would be: #1: Pedroia #2: Youkilis? #3: Grady |

Granderson... No Chance A-Rod could because he has won an MVP before when his team didnt make the playoffs. Ill tell you who its gonna be. Its gonna be Morneau or Dye. Whichever team makes the playoffs is gonna decide this one. They are both doing great this season. Morneau is killing the baseball with 128 RBI's and a .902 OPS. 32 HR and 89 RBI for Dye in an amazing year. He is showing signs of his 1999 season with KC (almost). Youkilis wont win it even though he is crushing balls off the green monster and above it. |

Dye hasn't been really that amazing. His 2006 season was way better then this year. Plus if we're comparing HR's and RBI's Mark Reynolds: 27 HRs 92 RBI's Amazing right? |

Alex hasnt done anything to win MVP, his stats may look pretty, but anyone who actually WATCHED him play this season, will tell you straight up, he has been garbage. Shit, Alex will tell you himself he has been garbage this season The amount of double plays he has grounded into has been ridiculous, his avg with risp has been terrible, especially w/ 2 outs. And even with the bases loaded, he hasnt been good. But when no one is on base, hes for sure the MVP. The entire month of August, anytime runners were on base, he would rather ground into a dbp, or strikeout. And im not even exaggerating, he was really that bad Alex post all-star break just hasnt been good. Im not even trying to bash Alex, I try to support the guy, but he just hasnt been good this season. I mean he just recently got his 100th rbi, he couldve had that last month if he played like he did last yr. |

He has a Howard like batting average and terrible on base. Can i steal your metaphor because this fits perfectly with Reynolds or almost perfect. He is just a terrible hitter, who just hits homers kinda like Jonny Gomes from a few years ago. Dye has hit about 40 doubles, 2 triples and has an .895 OPS. Dye is still one of the best outfielders as far as defense goes. Only 1 error this season and 5 A. |

Dye is possibly the worst defensive RF in baseball. Oh, yeah, you're looking at errors and assists.... Edited by sportslover, Thu Sep 18, 2008 10:52 pm.

I'd say Justin Morneau, especially if the Twins get in. He's gotta be one of the most overlooked players in the bigs. He very easily could be collecting his second MVP in three years and my vote would go to him. |
