I don't see how in 2006 and 2008 he's been below average offensively?

Maybe prior to 2006, but this year and in his MVP year in my eyes he had solid seasons at the plate. I know his defense is nothing special, but he isn't horrible. 995 in 2006, 996 last year and a 997 so far. There's worse.

And, I wasn't saying no to Mauer getting MVP votes, shouldn't have put that in the quote, Mauer is having a good year and will get his first Gold Glove this season along with a Silver Slugger. I was saying no to you saying Morneau is overrated. At least IMO.

Two of the top ten most underrated superstar-caliber players in my eyes are in Minnesota, Joe Nathan and Justin Morneau.

How does that translate to WAR?

Also, what is WAR? Don't think I've heard of that, or just not in abbreviated form.
Wins Above Replacement. Some bullshit nerd-o formula.

He might not be overrated by the mainstream public, as no one really gives a shit about Minny, but he certainly was overrated by his team when he got his contract.

SL should make a list of most of the sabermetrics and explain what they are so we can understand what he's saying..

I know 80% of what he posts, but sometimes he gets a little out of control.

I've never heard that WAR one, but I'm pretty sure I understand it's concept.

And yes, SL you should make a list. Have it sponsored/approved by Infallable.

I got Alicia Sacramone

Well Sizemore, A-Rod, Bradley, and Granderson have no chance since they didn't make the playoffs. Just how it works unless you have unreal numbers, and none of them do.

It will, IMO, be between...

Quentin (very unlikely given his injury, even though he still has great stats)
Dye (Could possibly be one of the most dissappointing MVP awards if he wins it. Not that he is not having a good year, but his numbers just arent MVP right now, but there aren't many choices frankly.)
Pedroia
Youkulis (sp?)
Morneau (if the Twins make the playoffs, and thus knocking out Quentin and Dye's chances)
