First place is safe for another week, but man was our third game horrible. I had seven, yes seven, open frames...six where I couldn't even hit a pin on the second throw. My uncle bowled 50 pins under his average, our lead-off bowler was 10 pins under his average, and our other person bowled a little over their average.

I'm hoping to get a new ball after Christmas...my ball can't do much any more.
What kind are you looking for?
The lanes here are dry so I'm thinking something along the lines of Storm's Tropical Storm or Columbia 300's Jazz. Drill it off center a lot and I'd be good to go or maybe get Roto-Grip's Neptune and drill it off center just a little bit.

So you are looking for something with low spin. I would research at www.bowlingball.com and see what is right for the lanes.

Here is a pretty good ball for a good price...

RotoGrip Pearl Cell - $115 w/free shipping

FYI: My ball has 198.5 on the "perfect scale". The scale represents the amount of hook the ball has. With 198.5, my ball hooks a TON, but I also throw no thumb, which creates a lot of spin even with a plastic. So....

At my lanes my uncle's ball, which is for medium oil, goes Brooklyn 90% of the time by the third game. Today he couldn't stand any further left without being in another lane and could throw any further right without going in the gutter ASAP. His ball is drilled off center a lot though, so a ball meant for medium oil might work if I'm careful with the drilling.

This ball is pretty popular here and my uncle was going to get it until he got a new ball for free. If it's good enough for my uncle it's good enough for me.

Meh. Not a great ball, but for dry lanes it should be fine. The perfect rating is pretty low, but like I said, if the lanes are dry, then it should hook just fine.

That's the thing. The lanes here are crazy dry. But I'd like to bowl at another place too and I don't want to struggle to hook the ball when I'm on wet lanes. The Jazz is rated a 92 on the perfect scale so it would probably be better for multi-house bowling. I'd rather have to flatten out my delivery to throw in a dry house than throw my arm out trying to hook that Tropical Storm in a wet house.

The Elite Eclipse is another option...a 99.5 on the Perfect Scale.

We won 2 of 3 today + the series. Should still remain in 1st place hopefully. I did pretty well today.

131 (blahhh), 203, 190. Good for a 524 series, and 175 average.

After a very rough night we remain in first...by a minimum of three points.

I think I'm settled on the Elite Eclipse for a new ball. I'll probably get it drilled to 75% of center.

A guy on our team bowled a 276 today. Baller.

Then the next game a guy on the next lane over bowled 1 276...with nine strikes in a row. After the ninth strike he did a shot...then POW. Bowled a seven. Fail.

My team is in first by 2.5 points. Today we did bad a team, but I did well. I had a 151, 165, 178, good for a 494 series and a 165 average for those 3. This pushes my seasonal average up to about 152.
