I was told this morning by Lee's agent Casey Close that Derrek has blocked a trade already. Not sure how far along the trade actually was, but sometime in the last 10 days, they went to Close and asked him about an AL team and the answer was no.

Not that I would mind them trading Lee, but I am just speechless they actually did it.

Damn. That would be terrible for Cubs fans. They love the hell outta Lee. Maybe not when he is grounding into a DP every game, but he still seems to be their favorite along with Zambrano.

And what AL team do you think? Angels?

Or maybe that team was the Orioles who would send over pieces to be traded to San Diego for Peavy to the Cubs. I heard the Orioles could be the 3rd team in the Peavy to Cubs trade.

It was probably the Orioles. No winning seems in sight in the near future for them, and it's not a particularly enticing place at this point in time.

But yeah, although I can't stand him, he is the face of the franchise outside of Zambrano. I think he's fallen to circa the 12th 1st Baseman in the League, and the constant DPs among other things did it for me. I call him DP Lee.

I call Miguel Tejada DP Tejada so.. I win since he actually led the league.

I can see him blocking a trade to the O's since he wouldn't have a chance of doing anything over there so that is a very likely choice. But hell the Cubs don't need Peavy.. give the rest of the Central a chance please.

1. Zambrano
2. Peavy
3. Harden
4. Dempster
5. Lilly

Now thats a good rotation.
