His price in the last 4 years are a bargain, and then his price the next 3 could be the biggest bargain in the league for someone not in their rookie contract. |

Wow, that's bargain, even though last year isn't his true talent level. He's a 3.6 WAR player, which bargains for about a 6/$85 mil deal, but, that's not what the Red Sox would be paying him. For the next two years he'd be making near the league minimum, and for the 3 after he'd be making his arb value, which is usually 20/40/60% of a player's actual value respectively. So for the next 6 seasons Pedroia would be making like $26 to $30 million dollars. The Red Sox are saving themselves some good money any way you look at it. This is how the best FO in baseball operates. |
