HIGH LIFE!!!!!!!!!

That slideshow was incredibly biased against the city.

Are we a beautiful city that tourists should flock to? No. I'll admit, there's a stupid ammount of the city that's just a complete shithole that NEEDS to be either demolished, renovated, or developed, however don't get the idea that the entire city is just one big abandoned building.

I've seen many, MANY people with this view of Detroit, and not surprisingly many had never been here before. They've just seen pictures like that, and based their view of the city on it. However, when they actually arrived here and was shown the brighter side of it, loved this city. There's a list of places that are just beautiful here. Cobo. Joe Louis Arena (although it really needs to be renovated). Hart Plaza. Greektown. Fox Theater. The Hockeytown Cafe. Comerica. Ford Field. The Ren Cen. The State Theater. There is plenty of beautiful places in this city. Also not to mention, in Detroit and the surrounding suburbs, you get incredible people who are very friendly, and work hard.

It's actually incredibly sad what the decline of the American auto industry has done to this city. However, we still have plenty of beautiful places, and hopefully if we can get a mayor that will actually give a damn, we can ressurect and rebuild this city. Living here I get the feeling that the people here are tired of being reguarded as the shithole of America, and are wanting to change that. We'll see what happens here in the coming decades.

Hasn't been any difference us whites in the suburbs. The suburbs here are awesome, and so are the colleges and JLA. I'm perfectly fine and comfortable in Detroit.

That's another thing. We have some incredibly good schools.

On the news they were saying people are selling their homes for as little as $6,000-8,000. A guy from the UK came in and bought 20 something homes and is gonna make them all rentals when the economy turns around.

I feel for people having to sell their homes like that. Lose everything, it's sad. Not just Detroit, but the entire midwest is feeling the impact, especially Ohio.

A lot of people are doing that. The banks will foreclose them and sell them for dirt cheap. The people who's got some money are snagging these things up.

A lot of people are going to make out very well.

Yep, right now is when the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Sadly, it has to comes at others expense, but I can't blame them, I'd do the same.

Stock market is another good example, I've put a ton of money in my Roth IRA the past six months. Shares are dirt cheap.

Yeah, I own a lot of stock, and they are all doing shit right now. Then my dad sends me an email saying he bought some for me and put it in my portfolio. He bought $7500 worth. I'm nervous, but I know they have to go up eventually.
