Kentucky job. Why would he be interested in that? A place with unrealistic expectations where you can't win? Highest paid coach ever. Actually, UK is saddled only with the former and not the latter. Douchebag meets douchebags. Hope both get owned. |

I commend them for trying to do it the right way, and it is refreshing in this time, but they certainly better not expect to compete for National Championships. |

John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Daniel Orton, Jon Hood to compliment Patterson Meeks and Miller Wall and Cousins are projected lottery picks in 2010 And this team this year made it to #24, started 5-0 in the SEC, and only lost to UofL on a last second 3. A collapse doesnt mean this team isnt good, im expecting at least elite 8 next year, if the recruits come because John Wall is amazing. |

I could go either way on this, Kentucky is obviously in the better conference and has the better history, but Cal has built Memphis into a power house who is basically guaranteed to easily make the tourney year in year out. Plus, it's not like going to the bigger name school can really help his recruiting much if at all, his recruiting is already tremendous. On that note, he's walking away from a class that could possibly have 3 of the top 6 players in the country, that's hard to do. Much more pressure at UK as well. I'd lean towards Memphis being the better of two great situations for him. |

I have my personal opinions on Calipari as a man and as a coach, and I don't think he's particularly good at either. He loves being that "big fish in a small pond" type. Goes to a smaller conference, "recruits" big time players, and yes, he wins. He left UMASS knowing probation was coming and bolted to the NBA, where he was a total disaster. He's gotten big names to Memphis, of course it helped that he hired Milt Wagner as an assistant while his #1 recruit son was in High School. Ok, I'm clearly not able to be unbiased when it comes to this clown, so I'll stop. Good luck to the Kentucky Fans. Enjoy probation in 10 years. |

2007-2008 wins against Oklahoma Austin Peay UCONN Georgetown Arizona Siena Gonzaga -trny Mississippi State Michigan State Texas UCLA Calipari should of stayed at Memphis, they have a good young team and would have had a bunch of great recruits coming in as well; beef up the OOC schedule for next year and they would have been ready for another deep run in the NCAA trny. At the same time, he did have Kentucky calling and he will still be able to bring in the talented one and done players; will be real interesting for all the reasons at Kentucky the next couple of years including this offseason. |

If you see what that team loses this year, and their recruits have already all said they will open their recruitment back up again, and that team could be middle of the pack next year if they hire a new coach and have to implement a new system (we all know that pain). Xavier Henry, DeMarcus Cousins have already opened their recruitment back up, John Wall has said he won't be going to Memphis now, and Tyreke Evans has said he's gone to the pros. Add that to Joey Dozier being a senior, Antonio Anderson being a senior, and the perceived transfers to Kentucky etc. and then add the little time they have to get new recruits for this semester, and what do they really have? |
