Milton Bradley, commenting on how so many experts are picking the Cubs to win the NL Central: "They should. I'm here. I'm a winner. When I went to the Dodgers, after they hadn't been to the postseason since '88, they went to the postseason. I went to the A's in 2006. We weren't supposed to do anything, and we went to the ALCS. I was with San Diego. We were one win away from making the postseason, and I got hurt. Everywhere I go, people win. It's not a surprise." |

Even if he actually thinks that, why would he actually say it? He can't possibly be that oblivious to the public storm that would come to that. |

Reed Johnson made a terrific catch to take away a grand slam from Prince Fielder that helped win the Cubs the game. That's a catch that Bradley wouldn't have made, IMO. |

If this were Scotty P or some other cracker saying this about the White Sox you'd be in your knees. |

Oh god no. Milton Bradley is a butcher in the field. Has no range. Reed Johnson on the other hand is a good defender, and it's a shame that Fukudome is favored over Johnson for defense by Lou Pinella. |

CHONE projected runs above average in CF (fielding): Fukudome: 3 Reed: -5 If you use UZR, and throw in a positional adjustment from corner OF to CF (I don't know the difference off the top of my head, and don't want to bring it up), you'll get similar results. Reed Johnson is a total butcher in CF. Over his career, in +1000 innings, he's been a -12.5 (per 150 innings) run defender there. Throw in the fact that Fuku is projected to be around 23 runs better than Reed in 2009, and it's no question who you start. But yeah, Darwin forbid Joe makes an intelligent post for once. |

Speaking of Darwin, this woman won an honorary award of his. Here's a video of the lady going into the polar bear pit. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/26 ... -time.html |

LMAO, I love the look on the polar bear's face when the lady is first swimming toward her. "Wow. What an idiot, but I guess I'll play along anyway." |
