Economic competition is cool. If the Chinese want to devalue their currency and artifically deflate their standard of living, that's cool. It sucks, but it's okie-doke with me.

Japan did the same thing in the 60's and 70's and they ended up causing one of the bigger industrial booms in history once their people 'turned inward' and demanded a higher standard of living. IOW, they wanted to start owning some of what they were exporting.

Right now, China is almost exclusively an 'export economy.' Much like we were in the early 20th Century and how Japan was in the mid 20th Century. They'll change to a 'consumption economy' sooner rather than later.

But helping a terrorist country like Iran get nukes? There should be a price to pay for that one. A heavy price.

I'm not gonna hold my breath.

The Chinese are little different than the British were at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. Competitors with a slight hint of military muscle that had us backing away.

You gotta remember, all those Battleships and the Navy we were building prior to WWI? We weren't concerned about the German Navy or the French Navy -- We were worried about the British Navy. The Brits and the USA didn't really get friendly until we helped them out in WWI.

And in WWII, FDR was far more concerned with dismantling the British Empire than he was about Germany or Japan. Neither of the latter two were any real threat to us. At all.

dims? Politics? Politicics are politics. One side lies, the other side tells a bigger lie. The difference is, the filth in the LSM runs interference for the dims at every turn.

The Obamunist never misses an opportunity to tell people that he 'inherited' this economic mess. Biden never misses an opportunity to let us know that the bad economy happened on Bush's watch.

But the corrupt LSM virtually never gives you the whole story. They don't tell you that Congress is in charge of the economy, not the Executive Branch. If they taught the Constitution in schools, maybe more people would know about these things. I guess they're too busy educating our kids on the joys of same-sex couples raisng children together.

Another piece of absolute proof of WHO was aslep at the wheel -- No, no. That's not correct. The dims were not asleep at the wheel -- They knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they shut down attempts to rein in the out of control Fannie and Freddie.

Congress Warned on Fannie and Freddie Misdeeds, yet Liberals in Congress Blocked Attempts to Rein in the Government Sponsored Enterprises

Based on what I've read, the Chinese economy is hardly "booming". They have experienced a net loss of manufacturing jobs just like the rest of the developed world, and many people think their economy is in far more trouble than ours is in the near-term future.

Lots of folks think our loss of manufacturing jobs equates to China's gain. Not true. Their economy is going through the same kind of transition (away from manufacturing and into service and other sectors) that ours is experiencing.

The big difference is that when the US economy goes into recession, people go on unemployment. When the Chinese economy goes into recession, people starve.
