UC 0079, October 15, Chihuahuan Desert northern edge, 2:15 pm For a few days, the Argama was under heavy attack of CRADLE. The ship cannot see any hope of breaking past the New York base lines of the eastern coast, and therefore was forced to head north and hopefully cross the pacific ocean to Odessa. They have not been given the exact time for the rumored large scaled operation against Odessa, but they at least know it was a day in November. The Argama crew has less than a month time to make it out of America now. However their supplies given by Silvia's resupply team a week and a bit more ago is probably not enough for them to last any more than 2 weeks. Seeing the supply cargos starting to become empty again, Noa decided to take a risk. Allen Ray, the pilot of the Gundam was on the bridge with the usual bridge crew. Though for him the bridge is not a place he usually should be. As a pilot, they would be spending times maintaining their MS, and in their rooms once finished. Tapping in strategies, Allen was searching a new way to combat CRADLE's new model MS, the Gouf. Scratching his head and sending a biscuit into his mouth he looked back up to see his captain standing next to him. "...Core fighter? Yes I know but what about it...?" Allen asked with his mouth full, Noa did not mind. "Yeah, actually I want to ask you a favor to launch in that and scout our surroundings. As you know we have been forced to return to inland america due to the heavy defense lines of CRADLE in the eastern cost of New York as well..." Noa explained. Allen swallowed what he was chewing and continued to look up. From a far, it appeared like a father talking to his son at the homework table. "And yeah, basically this is our situation. The resupply from Silvia's group leaves us enough for around 2 or 3 weeks, though we have to get to Odessa by November to join into the large scale operation to retake our stronghold. And now we are stuck in America not knowing where to go...there should be a village up north of our position. I want you to go ask for some directions..." he continued. Allen hmmm and brought out a thinking face. "But cant we just land the Argama over there? Saves us some time as well." Allen questioned back. Tapping on the plastic table with his fingers he saw Noa's eyes twitch a bit. "This is why I need you to go over. As investigation shows, the place is empty land. We cant afford to give away our coordinates to an enemy right now. With CRADLE forces surrounding and the Gallop tailing us, it is better to stay here where there is somewhat of a cover. Also, we cant be sure that the correct way to fly out without running into enemies is that way too...so, we need you to ask the people in the village about which way they see little to no military bases..." Noa added. Allen this time knew why the core fighter will be the solution to this situation. Due to the small size, it can easily be mistaken as a plane flying in the sky and can quickly escape the enemy. |

Allen walked towards the hangers, the ship was much more quiet than usual. The crew members were exhausted from circling around the desert for weeks. They have not seen even a bit of green for the past month, if it was not Silvia's resupply group coming in time, the crew would have perished long ago. No one talked to him while he walked down the corridors. Finally his foot stopped, as he slowly raised his head. The one that stood in front of him was Sayla. Her silky blond hair was tied back, and sleeves rolled up, holding a basket of laundry. Allen felt dry, drier than usual. After all that, his relationship with Sayla have become in between friends and lovers, which is the most confusing time, and the most dangerous times. Their relationship can crumble any moment, into nothing but black swirling hate. Allen only raised his hand and greeted hi. Sayla did nothing but smiled back. "...yeah, dont you think its funny seeing me like this. Heh heh..." she laughed a bit. Sayla was not the type to do any laundry, nor any chores, because she even had maids and butlers back home in Side 7, she was the princess that never had to do much. However the situation what different right now. Regardless of what she was previously, right now she is only a soldier, a part of the Argama crew. "Yeah, they have me do stuff like this when im off duty from the bridge. We really need a bit more people..." she continued. "I'm off for a mission, probably wont be back tonight. Not sure when we can meet again, but...I will be back soon." Allen replied, the two only passed each other without any further exchange of words. Dressing up in his normal suit, he saw the Gundam being separated from the waist. Inside, the hangers pulled out a rectangular block that slowly unfolded into a jet fighter. Colored in blue, red and white, it was painted the same as the Gundam. Core Fighter, in order to preserve the pilot's battle data and also increase their chance of survival, it was the Gundam's escape pod type of device that can be ejected anytime. The Core Block System is one of the systems Allen found amazing but yet has a chance to see what it really is. "Hey kid, it's all ready to go. You've got fuel to launch from here and fly back most likely. For an escape pod this thing is damn well armed. Its got 6 shots of missiles and mounts the 60 mm machine gun like the Gundam's head vulcan. You wont find luck against a MS but its more than enough to shake off a few Dopp Fighters that might trail you. Dont worry, its basically the Gundam's cockpit, you should know it better than any one of us!" Sanders pointed thumbs up as he shut the hatches with a bang. Putting some final tuning in the white fighter jet, he wiped a drop of sweat with his grease tainted Federation uniform. "Ah, thank you. This'll do for now." Allen eyed the unit, climbing in, it was the first time he piloted a plane of any sort. Though it was basically the same as how the Gundam worked, he did not have to worry about anything. The only thing he has to worry about is fulfilling his role, so that the ship can get away from CRADLE's attack. The Core Fighter was already set on the catapult, as the elastic bands bent back. The hatches slowly opened, as usual, and as much as Allen was bored of seeing, small particle of sand blew past the screen. Lowering his helmet, he turned grabbed hold of the controls. "Allen Ray, Core Fighter, launching!" |

Even after 20 minutes, the scenery have not changed a bit. The Argama can no longer be seen, and neither did it show up on Allen's radar. The Core Fighter maintained steady flight high up in the skies, Allen can no longer turn back. Being far away from Sayla, maybe this is the first time he felt some loneliness for so long. Right now he cannot even bear the days without her. Closing his eyes, he already lost focus of controlling. Thinking back, when CRADLE attacked Side 7, it was Sayla that was the first one that directed any real emotions towards him. Born into a family where his parents often argued and fought, they eventually divorced. Leaving Allen to grow up in an orphanage. Born into a world that he did not believe in any kind of emotions, his only way to enjoy this dull and monochrome life is by playing with machines. Even now this feeling did not change too much, but half of it did change. He has found a meaning to live, and a role that he must play. The alarm then ticked off, Allen immediately opened his eyes and caught sight of two hostile units approaching the Core Fighter. The speed, the size and the position, they were Dopp Fighters. Incoming connection came in, it was CRADLE's warning. To Immediately disarm and land, of course CRADLE has no idea that this Core Fighter was a part of the Gundam. But just because they do not know, doesnt mean they can just let it go in the middle of their land. With no choice, Allen stepped on the accelerators as the burners behind the jet increased in velocity. Using the same boosters as the Gundam, the Core Fighter was well built and suitable for both atmospheric flight and space cruising. Seeing the Core Fighter increase in speed, CRADLE got more suspicious about this unknown unit. They even began to fire. Allen saw shells flying past his screen and he turned the rear cameras on. The Dopp Fighters were closing in, Allen has no choice but to fight back, otherwise it would only be a matter of time before he is caught. "Tsk, at a time like this...CRADLE always shows up for no good at the worst timing possible...!!" he cursed, and quickly took a U turn with his fighter. The suspicion has been cleared, now that CRADLE clearly recognizes this unit to be a Federation unit, due to the paint job. CRADLE is popular of using dark colors such as green and black, up until this point they have yet to make any unit painted white. And the infamous "trojan horse" that has been wandering around America for weeks is exactly that color. It did not take much IQ to figure out that the Core Fighter is at least something that launched from the Argama. Allen slid in between the shells, and returned fire. The two Dopp Fighters separated from their formation and spread out. Unlike MS battle Allen has been doing for the past month or so, aerial battle is much different. First, the units cannot stay still in air, second, even if they pass each other, theres no way to attack from the side because there is no such thing as a melee weapon in neither side's arsenal. Both sides took a U turn and faced each other again. Allen locked onto one of the Dopps and fired once again, while the other side did the same, somehow Allen managed to hit first and the enemy fire missed slightly. Seeing the green, strangely shaped fighter plane being shot down, Allen broke a sweat. He knew that this shot was purely luck that he came out unscathed. If only his luck has been a bit worse, he would be the one tumbling down instead. The other unit seeing his ally shot down did not stop attacking. The two once passed each other, this time Allen decided to use something that would be more accurate and ranged. Missiles, only 6 rounds are stored. And each time two will be used, so therefore this can only be used 3 times. Missiles were valuable since it was the only real way Allen might do any damage to a MS if he unfortunately encounters one. Even so, he cannot be shot down at a place like this. "Have to do it before he does me, I'll shoot...I'll shoot...I'll really shoot!" he took aim from a far, the Dopp Fighter obviously was out of range to counter with its machine cannons. The tubular explosive zipped through the air, and decimated its target. Allen took a deep breath, thinking that the battle is over. Suddenly from below, shells came flying up as well. They were much larger and obviously not the size that the Core Fighter can withstand if hit. MS...?! So those two were not the entire force. How careless...!! Sanders made it very clear that Allen better flee if he runs into a MS, Allen know that with just 4 missiles, unless he manage to get a direct hit in the cockpit, the green cyclops will not collapse. The Zaku continued to fire upwards. Allen felt a wobble, at first Allen thought he was hit, but then it seems like the fighter was still in the air. Though something caught his attention, the bar that displayed how much fuel remained was dropping like a sinking ship. Sniffing again, he smelled an unpleasant smell of petrol. Looking out, he saw a transparent liquid leaking from the base of his unit. The shot just now must have scratched and got the fuel can. The Core Fighter was losing altitude, before even thinking he tried to crash land as far away as possible from the Zaku. "Damn!! Is this it?!" |

BGM Pulling a cloth over the Core Fighter, it was fortunate that Allen landed it in one piece. But with so little fuel, it is impossible to make it back. Thanks for the hole the Core Fighter dug itself from the crash landing, it made hiding the unit much easier. Behind a large cave, Allen grabbed himself a robe and continued to walk. Like a desert nomad, he climbed atop a hill of sand, and finally found the place where he was suppose to find. Looking at the wristwatch, it has been nearly 7 hours since he crashed. The time he launched was around 6 in the morning, it is now past noon. His stomach was growling, but most importantly he was thirsty. The desert was a harsh place to survive in. But even so, there are humans that are adapted to this harsh environment, and even constructed a civilization on top. The road was downhill this time, Allen must be careful not to slip and roll down like a barrel. Although it looked close from the hill just now, Allen has already walked for another hour. The place seems further than he thought. He was panting, his lips were dried. Forcefully peeling a piece of dead skin and licking the blood that flowed out, the spacenoid was at his limits. He never had to walk so far in such a harsh condition, though his rough journey ended when he got to the fronts of the city, or village. It was surprisingly desolated, without nearly no people even in the market during the day. Though Allen know it was not a ghost town at least, because he saw people walking by from time to time. They all eyed him with the corner of their eyes and slowly walked away. Seems like the village did not welcome foreigners, or that was at least what Allen thought. His first job, is to save himself. Hoping to find some food or water he wandered around. The stone buildings stood under the heat unmoved, Allen felt his body already deprived of water as no more sweat was rolling down and it was just heat that was escaping his body. Eventually he got to a place that looks like a cafe of some kind. Without a second thought, he entered. There was only one bartender standing there, running his towel through cups. He was not sure what currency nor language the place used, he just took a seat at the bar. "May I have a cup of water..." he weakly asked, probably the bartender did not even understand english, but Allen's expression said more than his words. With the next glass cup, the bartender poured some water from a jar and placed it in front of his "customer". Clearly Allen came without even confirming what kind of money they want, he just grabbed the glass and gulped the precious liquid down without hesitation. The bartender looked American, but was dark tanned, most likely a desert residence. After CRADLE conquered the area, seems like the more remote areas were left completely unattended, and small villages such as this was totally cut off from the outer world, leaving them all alone to manage themselves. The bartender then grabbed a piece of bread and placed it on a plate, handing it over to Allen. "Not a lot of people wander into this village after the Spacenoids conquered this place. So dont blame us being cold to you, we stopped greeting foreigners ever since then." The bartender coldly replied, refilling Allen's glass. Hearing english, Allen was glad that he can at last communicate with the people here. Or at least with someone. Suddenly he heard a noise that was much not suited for a desolated village, the noise of machines. Sounds like a truck or some sort and a few jeeps, being proficient in mechanics, Allen recognized the type of the vehicle just by the sounds of the engines. This is bad, Allen already know. Those that might drive into a place like this without worries, are no other people other than CRADLE themselves. "Master, cook whatever you have out and let us feast a bit. Leaving you the money here, should be enough for now. You can be honest if you want more!" an overall round and somewhat chubby CRADLE commander followed by a tall and thin women, nobel lady, and then behind with a few ordinary soldiers that held machine guns grabbed a seat at a table in the cafe as well. Allen shivered a bit, from the way this person dress and speaks, he is most likely an officer with a considerable amount of authority. Blue army uniform and the CRADLE cape that meant the rank of Captain, Allen only shifted his eyes away. Taking a bite into the bread, Allen had to pull hard to chew. It was as hard as french bread but tasted like leather. Eventually it was soft enough to swallow, Allen still had to swallow hard. The bartender humbly handed everyone at the table a glass of water and walked into the kitchen. Allen having his back towards the CRADLE members, he knows that he is being watched... Ramba Ral, grabbed his glass of water and stood up. Allen heard footsteps approaching from behind, as they are getting closer. Taking a seat, two stools away from Allen, he sat there. His wife or fiancee kind of person, Hamon followed as well, she however, sat at the stool next to Allen. Allen tried to eye away into the other direction, or at least down onto his rock hard bread that was like a brick. Grabbing it and taking another bite, it was even harder than eating an overcooked steak. As he was about to take another bite, a slender hand extended from the left side, pulling the "brick" out of his hands. She only sighed and smiled. "Dont eat something like that. Master, bring this kid out some proper food too." Hamon ordered, taking out another bill and slapping it onto the table of the bar. Allen feels something is not right, he just now overheard the soldier's conversation about the "big mission" they are going to commence soon, and calling their commander captain Ramba Ral. Can these people, be the ones that are tailing the Argama. Allen somehow know for sure, he needs to get out of this place soon. If he's caught then it is all over. Jumping down from his seat, he bowed at Hamon. "Um, I...dont know what to say but, I appreciate your generosity but I cant just accept this without a reason..." he stammered. "Hmm? But I have taken a liking in you, isnt this a good enough reason for me to treat you a meal?" Hamon replied with a smile of a mature women. Allen backed down a bit, he did not really know what to say anymore. Suddenly the man called Ramba Ral, bursted out laughing. "HA! HA! HA! This is something Hamon, seems like you were dumped by him. But dont you think he is a bit young. Ah well well well, being liked by Hamon isnt something easy you know kid!! Interesting boy, I think I'm pretty impressed by your attitude, being a survivor in this sort of place isnt easy! Then I guess its not just Hamon, guess I will treat you as well!" he laughed and nodded. Hamon laughed as well and just replied yes dear. But then suddenly someone screamed from outside, it was a high pitched tone of a girl. Allen shivered once again, this time a cold sweat rolled down, this voice. BGM "Captain Ral, I have captured a suspicious person of unknown identity outside! She even is in the uniform of the Federation" a solider reported and pushed a girl into the cafe. She had silky blond hair and beautiful white skin, Allen without a second thought, by reflexes he shouted. Sayla?! But after he did, his nerves jumped. Without turning around, he saw the nice woman image of Hamon disappear into a cold smile of suspicion. Ral walked up and examined his caught hostage and wondered. Allen...Sayla can only say that. "Hmm? I dont recognize this uniform. But shes just a kid! You sure youre not mistaken?" he questioned his subordinate, but the soldier replied yes without a second thought. Ral scratched his mustache and wondered for a while. Shaking his head and turned around facing Hamon, he asked again. "Well what do you think Hamon?" he smiled, she only smiled back but was silent. Then Ral walked up to Allen, this time glaring deep into his eyes. "Those eyes, you remind me of myself 10 years ago. Those are the eyes of a soldier..." he reached down and pulled the robe that Allen was wearing the entire time. "Heh, now now you really have guts for doing this. I am even more impressed in you boy. Allen, that your name?" he asked, eying at the pistol that Allen already have his fingers through, concealed under his robe. No other people saw that, Ral only let go and have the robe fall back down to cover whatever Allen hid. He only replied yes sir, this commander is not an ordinary person. Allen knows this very well. Ral walked back to his seat and sat down again. "Well Allen, if we meet in battle then it wont be so easy you know." he dismissed. "Ah well, thank you Mr. Ramba Ral. And also Ms. Hamon...well we'll be taking our leave right now. Good bye!" Allen grabbed Sayla by the hand and quickly shuffled out the stone building... |

Ral tapped his subordinates on the shoulders and whispered by his ear, watching Allen and Sayla running away further and faster, he smiled. "Trail them, you might find something..." the subordinate bowed and slowly got onto his motorbike and took off. Ral smiled again and walked back inside. Seeing the jeep Sayla came from, Allen was wondering what she was doing here. Hopping onto the drivers seat, he turned the key as the machine roared. Sayla sat next to him and they took off towards the direction Allen think Sayla came from. "What are you doing here? Its so dangerous to go out all alone, but before that...how did you get here? Thought the Argama is going to wait until I report back..." the sand was brushing past the windows, the wind was blowing their hair back. The sunshine was still somewhat sharp, Allen did not see the scenery change much. "I was worried about you, or the entire crew was worried because we havent been able to contact you for so long. Thats why the Argama also got here too...we managed to find this route a few days ago, but we have no proof that its safe. But since Allen isnt replying, we'd just have to come all the way here ourselves. But thank god you're safe..." Sayla smiled, Allen nodded, knowing to not step in further otherwise it will ruin their relationship. Though by hearing Argama is nearby, he will assume that its close enough so that even the Core Fighter's small remaining fuel will be enough to get back. Stopping the jeep he opened the door and jumped down onto the sandy earth again. "Well, Sayla make it back first, I need to go dig up the Core Fighter. Shame but I got shot down, will be back soon. Also be careful, those guys we met at the cafe just now...they might be the Gallop crew thats been tailing us for the past week..." Allen left that and ran down the slope, Sayla can only watch his back. Allen has already changed, from the coward and selfish person she did not like too much at Side 7, to become a person that can care and feel for others. Reliable and trusted, she cannot ask more from any man like that already. Otherwise she will become the one that is selfish. Sliding down the incline, with little friction due to the sand, Allen remembered the strange looking cave he hid the Core Fighter. Though by the time he got to the bottom, he heard another sound of an engine. It came from the way of the village, and this sound is the one of a motorbike. Allen alerted and immediately hid behind a rock. Only for a glance, he saw the uniform of CRADLE. "That guy, he trailed Sayla...!! I need to hurry..." At the same time, Sayla reached the Argama. The crew members were all quickly repairing the ship while it landed. Even Noa and Rie was outside watching, seeing Sayla's jeep return, the two just walked up to her. After a short amount of conversation, Noa scratched his chin and wondered. "Sayla, are you absolutely positive that you saw the Gouf and CRADLE units?" he asked, she nodded. "Yes, although it was only a glance, I saw they have a blue colored MS covered on a cargo truck but also another Zaku. It is most likely the Gallop crew that have been trailing us..." she replied, still somewhat worried about Allen, because Allen left without asking where the Argama is, Noa and Rie looked at each other and nodded. "Captain, I think we should cancel the repairs and put Argama on combat standby..." Rie agreed, Noa nodded as well. Noa started to call out to the crowd as their hurried to finish what they have and run back onto the ship. Rie then walked up to Sayla and patted her on the shoulders, with a tender smile, but also she was putting a bit of force as well. Sayla knew what she did wrong, because she lied to Allen, saying the fact that Argama dispatched her to go look for him. Even if they are to go look for him, of all people why would they dispatch an operator that never even held a pistol in their lives before. "I know how you feel but you cant just run off without permission. Captain wont say too much this time, but dont let this happen again..." she warned, Sayla only looked down onto the ground and apologized. While the Argama is preparing for the launch, the Gallop crew already is ready to strike. From the radio, Ral was talking with Hamon. From the information gained by their subordinate that traced Sayla, they were positive that they found the Argama. "Alright, seems like we've hit bingo. Lets go! See you later Hamon, will be back soon!" he pointed thumbs up and shut the connection. Hamon only waved good bye and watched the blue MS jump and fly towards the other side of the desert. There was one Zaku that followed, the one that survived these battles. |

"Ho, there it is...hmm? Have we been spotted? Heh heh good, it would be boring beating up a sitting duck!" Ral praised as he saw the Argama's hatches already open. He was expecting the Gundam to deploy so he can have a good fight and defeat it. From a far, a blast of beam closed in from a far, the Argama's mega P. cannon. However it maybe be powerful, a beam from a far is much too easy for any MS to avoid. The Gouf and Zaku quickly spread out to avoid the beam and raining missiles, pushing forward. The Gundam still have not appeared. The blue MS took another few steps closer, they were still out of range, though Ral never intended to sink the Argama. Once he manage to take the bridge, everything is over. From the hatches, a unit launched, its tracks calmly rolled over the glossy sand. The cannons on its shoulders lowered and fired a rail of shells that bombarded the opponent from a far. "Damn, I wont let you get any closer!!" Hayate cursed, narrowing his eyes on the aim, he pulled the periscope back from behind his seat to get a better aim. The Gouf backed down a bit, for a close combat MS, Ral lacked the range to fire back at the Guntank. Looking at his subordinate, he turned the radio. "Alright, give that guy a blast of missiles! After that I will jump, cover me!" he commanded, the Zaku's leg unit had two missile pod option parts, used to cover for the lack of long range weaponry for MS. The missile pods have three shots per fire, a total of 6 missiles can be fired per trigger from both legs. Taking aim, the missiles flew out towards the Guntank. Hayate gasped, he have yet to experience a counter attack from a far. Up until now, his role has been disturbing from behind and usually the Gallop crew did not have the way to attack him directly. But now that in reality missiles are coming towards him, he pulled the controls back. The tracks of the Guntank reversed as the missiles smashed and exploded in the ground. What came out from the smoking sand was a blue blur. The Gouf was right above the Guntank, Hayate gritted his teeth and braced himself, lifting up the controls. The Guntank's "arms" lifted up and fired heavy shells from the gattling gun that replaced its two hands. However the attack was much too slow for the ace pilot to back down. Jumping over the Guntank and landed by its side, Hayate could not do much. The biggest weakness of the Guntank was the canopy, or top unit cannot rotate from the waist, and it require 1.2 seconds for a 180 degree turn, therefore 0.6 seconds to turn and attack Ral that landed beside it. And further time was needed for Hayate to take aim, however all this time added together was way too much for Ral, that just have to pull his trigger immediately. With the hand machine gun, the Gouf fired a barrage of shells that battered against the most frail area of a tank, the tracks. Hayate felt the Guntank lose balance slightly, and no matter how hard he stomped onto the acceleration, the unit wont budge an inch. "Heh heh, you seem to have caused a lot of trouble for us these past few days. Sorry but I'll take you out here!!" Ral shouted and took aim at the Guntank, although Hayate managed to turn and take aim, Ral fired again and blasted off one cannon off the shoulders of the unit. The young pilot shouted in horror as he is about to face death. At the meantime, Allen finally launched his Core Fighter. Without a runway nor catapult, it still managed to launch without too much problem. This just proves how good the Federation technology has become, though the problem still comes from the leaking fuel can. Although Allen fixed it and stopped it from leaking, the fact that there is only enough fuel for roughly 5 minutes operational time does not change. And of all times he had to run into the Gallop. "Guh, these guys...of all times, let me go, I need to get to the Argama!!" Allen shouted, firing two missiles down at the Gallop, smashing past some of its armor. The gun turrets from the land battleship continued to pour shells at the Core Fighter, preventing it from advancing forward. The bar that displayed how much fuel remained dropped another bar, leaving it with only 2 or 3 more minutes remaining. The alarm was already warning Allen to either land or refill, though neither option can be taken right now. If this is the case then, Allen will have to push through this situation. Diving down with the Core Fighter, at low altitude, it was difficult for the Gallop to continue fire, however the risk comes in the danger of going too low and crashing. "Laser communication...? Argama, this is Core Fighter!!" Allen called when he was in range of Argama's radio, despite the thick density of Minovsky Particles, the Core Fighter was close enough to receive signals from this distance. Seeing Hayate in trouble, Allen must deploy the Gundam immediately. Though that still takes time as well, Allen thought of something else. Although he heard Noa telling him to immediately return to the Argama and dock with the Gundam, he did not even want to waste this time. "No, this will take too long, Hayate wont last much longer. I will dock the Gundam right here! Please launch the Gundam top and bottom units, will need the Beam Rifle and shield too!!" Allen said something outrageous. The entire Argama was shocked, by theory mid air docking is possible, but no one has ever tested it or even heard of it. "What are you saying?! Its no time for jokes, we havent even tested this. Mid air docking needs precision that can only be calculated through countless trials, we are not nearly as ready yet. If it fails then we're all be done for!" Noa shouted back, Allen knows but he is not joking, he is serious. Because, he will trust the Argama crew, trust the maintenance crew that worked so hard with him on the Gundam. And most of all, he trusts Sayla that will give him the coordinates and orders. "I'm serious, I will do it, I will succeed. No matter how low the chances may be, as long as it is not 0 then I will make it! I believe Sayla that will guide me through this!! Therefore, can you trust me too! Hayate wont last, I dont want to lose anyone anymore!!" Allen shouted back, Noa did not say anything more. However the hatches opened, Allen saw the Gundam parts ready to be launched from the catapult. Looking at the radio, he imagined the person on the other side of the radio. Opening the screen on his helmet, he took a deep breath. "Allen, come back alive...with everyone! I will trust in you too, bottom unit count 9!!" Sayla's voice reflected from the speakers, Allen narrowed his eyes and smiled. Spoiler: click to toggle

BGM "Catapult online, all system green, bottom unit launching count 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, launching!" Sayla commanded, the maintenance crew unleashed the catapult when upon command, the leg unit of the Gundam was launched into air at an opposite direction so Allen can fit the Core Fighter in. Allen glanced at the computer and saw the tracks and correct angle for the Core Fighter to be inserted correctly into the slot. However Allen still needs support, since it was his first time doing something so precise, he can only grasp the approximate angle but not perfect. This kind of docking, must be perfect. Even without Allen asking, Sayla continued. "Allen, almost there...left 0.3 and up 6, tilt the angle down to the left 12 degrees, due to the wind and air resistance you will dock within 5 seconds!" she gave the precise coordinations of the Gundam's parts. The Core Fighter folded its wings and cockpit in and turned into the block like unit once again, preparing to dock. The boosters are still working due to the unit needs to stay afloat. The computer was beeping as laser lines extended from the Gundam unit and Core Fighter. Slowly, the MS part docked and clicked onto the Core Fighter. The screen displayed "Bottom Unit Docking Complete". Allen took a deep breath and was fine, but now the problem is top unit, as this time he must push the top of the Core Fighter into the top unit, much more difficult than just waiting for the bottom unit to join up. "Alright, Sayla next one!" Allen shouted, seeing the top unit ready for launch as well. "Top unit prepare, launching count down..." Sayla continued, only up until now Allen noticed, that 10 seconds can be awfully long to wait when youre in a panic. Surely Hayate hopes that this 10 seconds passes quicker as well, because his unit is not going to last more than a minute now. Though completely oblivious to him and even the Gouf, the Gundam is almost here to the rescue. Allen saw the top unit fly past him, he adjusted the controls, and stepped on the acceleration. The Gundam charged forward, however Sayla stopped him. "Allen, dont rush it!! Slow down 12 kmph, otherwise you will crash before docking! Right 15, maintain the angle!!" she continued. Allen was rushing, he would not have done it without Sayla, however following the person he trusts, he did it. On the screen of his computer, the systems connected to the Gundam's two parts as Allen now has full control of his MS. Adjusting his angle and looking down, he saw Hayate's Guntank engaging the Gouf. Lashing out with the heat rod, and finally wrapping against the Guntank's arm, the Gouf delivered a powerful electric shock towards the enemy. The shock burnt against the entire unit as the computers went crazy, Hayate can feel the shock pass through his body. "Ah! Ah!!! Its...its going to explode...!!" the screens were no longer functioning anymore, as he saw the mono eye of a blue cyclopes approaching. The end is approaching, or as Hayate thought, from high above a blast of beam destroyed and snapped the heat rod in half. The Federation's white MS, RX-78-2 Gundam descends from the sky. While Ral was fighting against the Argama's MS, his subordinate, Cozun's Zaku managed to get behind the Argama, holding its machine gun it approached the white ship slowly. Even if the Zaku's MG was unable to deal any damage to the ship's thick armor, the only way to sink it is to directly smash the bridge. "Enemy from behind, approaching the ship!" Taures reported, Noa was surprised that it managed to get close without anyone firing. "What? What are the turrets doing?!" he asked, but Taures only gave him a reply that there was no one there. The Argama lacks crew members, therefore it naturally does not have enough people to mount every turret on board that can cover the entire ship. The Zaku took another step and was about to jump, at a distance like this, the Zaku can jump and destroy the bridge easily. Noa was out of ideas, he only have less than 10 seconds to come up with one. Though it was not him to come up with the idea. "Everyone please put on your seat belts! Captain sit down too! I'm going to do a barrel roll...the only way we can shake that MS off!!" Rie shouted, Noa widened his eyes and looked back, asking what would she do if she was going to flip the ship upside down on Earth. Rie did not have time to even think about this, she does not want everyone to end here. Stepping on the acceleration under her foot and turning the steer, the Argama's powerful boosters exploded and blew out a powerful impulse of shockwave that smashed agains the Zaku. The white ship turned and spun 360 degrees in mid air, giving it enough momentum to immediately take flight. However the Zaku, from the powerful blow of the Argama's boosters, crushed the MS under the huge pressure of its impulse engines. "Cozun!! No you idiot...!! You did it wrong!!" Ral cursed and lamented for the death of his subordinate. |

The Gundam, still not landing on the ground yet, maintained its flight in mid air. Using the powerful boosters of the Gundam, Allen took aim at the Gouf, sharp and accurate the white MS pulled the trigger. Each blast of the beam rifle can be fatal to even a battleship, however Ral was not even attempting to avoid the attack. Tilting to the side and taking a step forward, it appears that the Gouf is using little effort to side step the Gundam's attacks. "Hmph, the attacks are indeed accurate, but thanks to that it makes me easier to predict..." Ral charged forward and lashed out with its half broken heat rod. The Gundam landed, but that very moment the electrified whip came at Allen. Raising up the Gundam's shield, the whip smacked against the heavy metal defender. Delivering an electric shock past the shield, but due to the rod being broken, it was not strong enough to send the shock past the shield. However the force still knocked the Gundam off balance. "Ugh...that guy, my attacks are not hitting...!!" Allen got his MS back up, looking at the amount of remaining energy for the beam rifle. "Tsk, its only got one shot left anyways...!!" he threw his projectile weapon back, clicking on the screen that indicated beam saber. The Gundam's automatic computer detected the command to change weapons, the arm unit automatically reached back and pulled out a beam saber from the backpack. Ral smirked as he found the pilot of the Gundam amusing, daringly engaging his opponent in close combat. He has been impressed with the Gundam's performance ever since their first engagement, but of all he wanted to know who was the pilot of this MS. "Ho, that pilot makes good decisions..." he moved the controls and the blue MS reached under its shield, pulling out a sword, the blade part began to glow bright orange with intense heat. Throwing the shield away the Gouf grabbed its blade with both hands. Letting out a mighty howl, Ral stepped full power onto the paddle, the Gouf boosted forward while it ran on the deserted land. With one hand on its shield and the other grabbing its beam saber, the Gundam charged towards the Gouf as well. Allen, let out a roar equally powerful. The two titans clashed, Ral was faster with his attack, slicing past the Gundam's shield from the side, splitting it in half with one swipe, Ral was ready to either avoid the beam saber that might come down, or if not directly crush the Gundam's cockpit. Though when the two broken pieces of the shield dropped to the ground, nothing was seen. Ral's eyes widened and doubting that the Gundam can just simply disappear. The alarm this time warned him, Ral immediately adjusted his cameras, seeing the Gundam charging down from above, he finally understood. The Gundam jumped the moment Ral slashed apart the shield, using that to block sight of the Gouf, the Gundam took a high jump for the counter attack. Ral was much surprised and did not have time to completely avoid the attack, only just fast enough to avoid the attack narrowly. However the tip of the beam saber slashed down and ripped a huge gap on the hatches on the Gouf, revealing the cockpit. Though from the landing, the Gundam did not have immediate mobility due to the unit needing to absorb gravity, Ral counter attacked and thrusted his heat sword at the Gundam's cockpit as well. The blade lacked range and only grazed past the Gundam's lunar titanium armor, however the blade smashed past the armor and ripping a gap into the Gundam's cockpit as well, similar to the one the Gouf had. Allen used his hands to shield himself from the flying glass of the destroyed screen from outside. The gap destroyed the Gundam's screen, but was large enough for Allen to see what was going on directly from the enclosed cockpit. While Ral pushed way a bit of hot melted steel with his normal suit, he finally can get a clear sight of his surroundings by his bare eyes. "Heh heh, not bad...but you still havent got me dead yet. But I find it hard to believe...that kids like you can become such pilots, I guess the ages of changed..." Ral praised and felt himself starting to get old. With both cockpits opened, Allen saw the other side as well, maybe it all went as Ral predicted, or maybe not. However from the moment Allen met Ral at the cafe, he was already doubting whether the Gouf's pilot was him or not. Now he has no more doubts, however knowing this does not make his situation any better. "I knew it was you...but, even so...!! I wont let you get any closer!! AHHHHH!!!" Allen pushed the controls forward again, the Gundam marched on towards the Gouf. Ral clenched his jaws and did the same, swinging horizontally, Allen felt the heat from the Gouf's blade as it approached. Something hinted him to go down, he did not know what it meant nor why he felt so, but he did it anyways. The blade swung past the Gundam that ducked under, Allen countered with a slash upwards that sent the Gouf's blade along with its two arms flying into the rubble. Spoiler: click to toggle

"Ngh...this is, I see, then if thats the case so be it!!" Ral pushed the controls forwards once again, it was like a last ditch effort to do something, the Gouf is deprived of weapons, Allen did not know what else it can do. The blue MS rammed into the Gundam, but even that was not good enough to knock the powerful Federation MS off its feet. "Let me crush you!!" Allen shouted, the Gundam held its beam saber backhanded and drilled it into the Gouf from behind, spearing past its generator. Ral seeing that his MS will not last and explode, thought of escaping. However even running, he will not escape the powerful explosion of a MS generator. Though as Allen moved the Gundam back to avoid being self destructed, Ral threw a hook that was connected to a tough rope, the hook went and manage to get the Gundam, with only 1 second to confirm whether this was safe or not, Ral jumped out of the gap from his cockpit and swung down the rope. Like tarzan, the pilot dived down right before the Gouf was about to explode. "Well done! But remember you didnt beat me by yourself, dont forget it was due to your MS performance!!" Ral left that with Allen as he let go of the rope, tumbling a bit he rolled to safety on the sandy earth. Allen turned his MS, taking a clear sight of Ral trying to run from the battlefield after losing his MS. Somehow what Ral said annoyed him, maybe that was the fact, but Allen truely believed that he at least did not totally rely on the Gundam's specs. "You sore loser!!" Allen shouted back, but then noticed a flash from the side. The blue MS, the Gouf that has been battering against the Argama for the past weeks finally disappeared. In a white flash and deep orange explosion, the MS was reduced to dust. Creating a huge shockwave and following a powerful wind. With the cockpit open, Allen felt the force even through his normal suit. Though he heard someone screaming from beneath, Ral was blown away by the shockwave as well. Tumbling across a small puddle of sand and out of Allen's vicinity. "Ugh...my, that was reckless of me...no choice, guess I'll have to meet up with Hamon later tonight..." Ral sighed and quickly ran from the battlefield. The battle was over, it ended once again in the Gundam's victory. However what worried Allen was not the fact that he did not kill Ral, was the fact that CRADLE has already began to field MS that can be such a powerful force under skill pilots. Allen's battle will become harder as everyday passes. He turned on the radio. |
