Just one day prior to the launch of Operation Odessa, Carissa stared out the window. Seeing the Black Tri Star's Zanzibar class ship launching from the harbor bay, she stared at the endless ocean of stars. It was space outside, she was living in a space colony, unlike those on Earth, she cannot see blue sky and mountains just by opening the windows. Windows cannot even be opened at all, this was a fact. Therefore she cannot forgive those on Earth, that knows nothing but to pollute the planet, and does not have even a bit of an intention to cherish the little remains of Earth. This was one reason why she yearned so much to win this war, but the other reason was a total different reason.

There was a knock at the door, she gave permission for those outside to come in. The electronic lock flipped opened as several aged men walked into the room. They were dressed neatly in CRADLE's army uniform, from their ranking badge, even the lowest ranking was a Colonel. These few men were members of CRADLE's Supreme Council, that operates under the royal family and manages the nation. They have authority over the army, however Carissa has authority over each and every single one of the members. She is the chairman (woman?) of this council, and has always been. After the queen passing over most authority over to her, Carissa reinforced strict military disciplines within the council, even more powerful than before. The council right now, seems to be totally under control of Carissa and its members have little power to act alone. It was not like this before, but only up until the outbreak of war when Carissa began to wield more power into the council. One man, surprisingly he was not a part of the millitary, but dressed up in a purple and black CRADLE uniform. This uniform was given only to high ranking officers within the government, and they even have control of the military, even if they are not within ranks. Therefore to some extent, he was the highest ranking person that came into the room. Joseph Mackenzie, his hair was curly and already white, with a large beard across his face. Either he is as old, or even older than the queen herself. Small eyes and wrinkles all over his face, he put a stack of paper onto Carissa's desk.

"Your highness, no matter what people might say, we cannot agree to this. Our deepest apologies, but M'quve's ways of doing is wrong, morally as well..." he respectfully bowed down to Carissa, as the others did as well. Everyone in the room were at least 10 years older than Carissa, but they all showed their respect to someone much younger than themselves. Picking up the top page, she hurled the stack of paper onto the floor and stood up, slamming her fist onto the desk.

"At a time like this what are you all babbling about? Refuse the reinforcements to prove righteousness? M'quve's actions are wrong therefore Odessa must be fallen to gain the people's support? This is war, gentlemen. This is not some knight, chivalry duel! Chivalry doesnt exist anywhere from the beginning! Understand? Who do you think sent us all those valuable resources? Who do you think completed the test for the long sluggish MA project? Huh? Everything is thanks to M'quve, and now youre telling me he is wrong?" she furiously began to insult her elders, seemingly to show no trust in them of any sort. Carissa only keeps them in power because there are still people that supports them. But Carissa can fire every and each one of them this very moment if she desires.

"But, your highness...if we do this then the treaty..." Mackenzie stammered, Carissa stormed up and rammed her palm against the old man's face. He was at age, even small pain can hurt a lot, but he could not do anything against her, because Carissa has the blade. Which she immediately pulled out and pointed it at Mackenzie. The distance between the tip of the "Sword of Justice" and his nose was less than an inch. Carissa narrowed her eyes like a tyrant, a dictator and glared at the powerless council member. Mackenzie was second in command of Carissa, but even so his power was stripped long ago.

"The pride of man? The authority of the military? It is fine as long as we grasp victory even if those are lost!"

At the same time, one young man walked down the streets of Elisard City, the large streets of the capital of Side 3. The scenery was not very different from any other major cities on Earth, the air was very clean due to being manufactured. The sunlight was artificial but they felt just as real as the ones on Earth. The sky was holographic, and the screen can turn transparent at night, but they appear to be just as comforting to look at like the real one. To many people, Colonies were paradise, to those that yearned for the nature of Earth, since Earth's natures were killed off long ago.

Vehicles were all run by solar powered batteries, the environment inside a colony was perfect. Just that everyone knows, it was man made, not blessed by nature. No matter how green the trees can seem, how blue the water can be, everything was produced somewhere. This does not disturb those that live here, but it does disturb those on Earth, living in jealousy. The young man wore clothes that can be seen anywhere, but his identity was not simple. Raul Ru Crueze, he was a CRADLE soldier, that just got promoted a few days ago. Stopping his tracks, he turned. Cars flowed past him like water, people walked around like nothing is happening. Many people forgets the fact that their nation was at war. Whether this is good or not, it is hard to tell.

The large road lead to a hospital, a few cars ran by and turned right towards the carpark nearby. Raul just walked straight, the automatic door slid open. Nothing was strange for a hospital, it was ordinary, like anywhere else. Patients sitting on the couches waiting for their turn, doctors and nurses walking around doing their job. Raul slowly walked up to the counter and pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket. No one knew of his identity, since he was not in his uniform. This was the last day of his vacation, it would be nice if the hospital will let him know what exactly is happening to his body. "Hello, I have reserved an appointment with Dr. Gilbert Williams today." he slid the paper across the reception's desk. The nursed smiled and began to speak a chain of words, Raul had little patience of listening, but he did not wipe that smile off his face. The fake smile as if there was an invisible mask. The nurse eventually finished and decided to lead the way, Raul only bowed a bit and followed.

Knocking on the door, hearing the doctor say come in, Raul slowly slid open the heavy door, that was made from very well soundproof material. Of course for a hospital, some facility like this was necessary. Most patients prefer not to let others know about what their diseases is. The doctor seems fairly young, even Raul himself was stunned. At the most he he seems to be in his early 20s, long curly black hair and somewhat pale skin, deep black eyes. His overall black appearance contrasted his white lab coat. Putting his pen down, he offered Raul a seat. Raul's smile was wiped off, immediately he did not want to trust someone like that.

"Mr. Crueze is it? Well have a seat, I will go straight to the point if you dont mind..." the doctor casually stated, Raul looked around, the room was awfully silent for a doctor's office. There should be at least some sort of equipments that makes sound, is he really a doctor? Raul began to ask himself questions, but since he is able to work in Central Elisard Hospital, the largest and most famous hospital in Side 3, then there must be something extraordinary about him. "Well, what should I say. The symptoms your disease is showing, appears to be something we have yet to encounter before. Sorry, maybe that was inaccurate. I should say...we have yet to resolve, if that would make it more accurate?" he continued.

Eying the doctor in distrust, Raul frowned. "Resolve? So you mean you have other patients with the same problem as me?" he questioned. Gilbert only flipped around on the clipboard with Raul's data attached, they were records of blood inspections, X ray results and much more. Gilbert then sighed and turned, this time staring straight into his patient's eyes.

"Does the word "cloning" sound familiar to you? Your symptoms, are showing exactly what a cloned person will be like at this age. Of course I am not indicating that you are clone of someone, but it is really rare for an ordinary person to get a disease like this. So rare that we do not even bother to look for a solution. I know it is cruel for them, but we have other diseases to research about, those that are much more common and deadly. Your body is aging at an incredible speed, from now one every year you pass will be like 10 years for your body. Mr. Crueze, in other words, you will only be able to live for another 5 or 6 years at most..."

Suddenly Raul's ears twitched, as if he reacted to something. But he was not too sure what, what was the word that sound so familiar. "So, you're telling me to give up living? Probably a bit inappropriate for a doctor to say this dont you think?" Raul replied coldly, he was not ready to give up on life yet, but thinking again, there was not much of a reason for him to be living anyways. Fighting a war, and then what? What will he do after this war ends? Raul has yet to decide on his future, because he never thought there was anything good waiting.

"Of course not, I am a doctor, to cure a patient is my job. Over this month I have checked many ways into your symptom, and I somewhat come to a solution. This might not completely fix the problem, but at least it will slow down your aging..." Gilbert pulled out a small box from his drawer. It was filled with blue and white capsules, he slowly moved the clear case in front of Raul's eyes. Raul only glared at it, doubting it will do any good.

Today Raul returns to his squad, originally he was one of the reinforcement soldiers to be sent down to a certain colonel's division on Earth, but this was abruptly changed to a new mission. Deep in the night he was given orders to return to his former squad and begin a rescue mission. Raul wondered why does someone from Side 3, so far away need to join a rescue mission, but then when he heard the reason, he was shocked. Odessa has fallen.

Already dressed up and brought everything he needed, he could care less about a few change of clothes. The rescue of his CRADLE comrades was much more important. Without another second to lose, he hurried towards the harbor. Despite being deep in the night, the bay was very noisy with people hassling and ships launching. CRADLE forces from each base up in space launched one and another, in order to retrieve the HLVs launched up as escape pods. Seeing his squadron already lined up and ready to go, he quickly took a small hop forward. Floating down next to in line, lining up horizontally in front of their captain. There was little gravity in the harbor, most workers find it easier in this situation to move supplies, and to move quickly they needed to use the handles attached to the walls being run by conveyor belts. Slowly landing, he saluted. The captain was in his 50s, but well shaved without much beard, just a thin layer of mustache over his lips. His captain's cap was a bit flat and battered, though it shows how long he has been in that position. His eyes were blue, but his hair was only partially white. Traces of his original blond hair can still be seen. Frowning with his small eyes, he took a glance at Raul. "My deepest apologies, lieutenant general Vincent"

"Youre late, Lieutenant Crueze. Now everyone is present, lets go...we do not have a second to lose!" he hassled. The crew members followed their captain and boarded the ship, Raul has little words to say to his squadron members. Since he was only recently transferred into this squad, he did not know anyone very well yet. Though others seems to dislike Raul, or was jealous of him. For his age and rank, he definitely shows a skill much more powerful than any other ace pilots on board. The ship they were boarding was not a Musai class, but a Chibe class, painted in pinkish red. With much more cannons and heavily armored, the ship had a pointy hull and a tall tower like bridge. It was taller than a Musai in exchange to be slightly thinner. This ship was only given to experienced commanders, it acted as the flagship of medium sized fleets. Although it was not as large or symbolic as the Gwazine class given to only the Elisard royal family, it was already the best ship a commander will ever be in command of. Using the speed of this ship, it is easy to get to Earth from Side 3, in around 10 hours. While Musai class likely will take more than 15.

The ship slowly inched out of the harbor, being armed with an extra booster to give it further speed and acceleration, the Chibe class slowly pushed out of the dock and sailed for the Earth's sphere. Although the blue planet seems large, Raul was not impressed of going there. He has never been down on the planet, nor does he want to go there. It was polluted, and dirtied by Earthnoids, he did not like that fact. Looking at the small clear case filled with capsules, he decided to give it a shot. Doing something is always better than nothing, and it does not feel like that Gilbert Williams will want to harm him. Flipping the lid open, he swallowed two capsules without water. His dried throat forcefully pushed the capsule down as he took a deep breath. A battle is coming, he can feel it approaching him second by second.
