Hello, everyone. I'd like to begin this topic by telling you that a few of us in the staff have been designing various concepts for the lore and history of the RP. As many of you know, we've been caught within a certain... purgatory. No one seems to know what to do or what we're doing and so the staff has set out to flesh out the setting, the story, the lore and the history of the RP-- define it, in other words.

What follows is our concept for the story. What we'd like you to do is read it and voice your opinions. We'd like you to vote on whether or not you think the storyline should be used in the RP. That being said, please start your posts with either:

Yes.

or

No.

And then voice your opinion as to why you feel that way.

Long ago, there were three brothers. The eldest, Viktor, was ambitious and craved power beyond all else. The middle-brother, James, was possessed by a lust for war and conquest. The youngest of the brothers, Elias, sought only to be as pure as he possibly could be. One day, a great and powerful entity had appeared to the three brothers with a test of their character. He offered the three anything their hearts desired.

The eldest brother, possessed by his ambitious nature, demanded a crown of the finest metals and a kingdom to rule over for all eternity. The entity agreed and granted Viktor his prize. The middle-brother, James, possessed by his desire to conquer his enemies, demanded a powerful sword that would slay any enemy or army that stood against him. The entity agreed and granted James his prize. It was then that the entity approached Elias, the youngest of the brothers, and asked him what he desired.

Elias reflected inward upon his thoughts for several minutes before he responded. He asked for a shroud that would make him impervious to the influence and presence of all evil. The entity smiled and granted him his prize. It was only then that the entity had revealed the true nature of his test and announced that the elder brothers had failed. In failing the entity's test, the brothers were cursed. The eldest, Viktor, for having been blinded by his ambition and lust for power was transformed into a hideous fiend of the shadows, a horror of the night. The middle-brother, James, for having been blinded by his love of conquest and war, was transformed into the very creature he sought to become: a ravenous wolf.

Elias watched in horror as his brothers were transformed before his very eyes. Without hesitation, Viktor and James attempted to turn on their younger brother in an attempt to consume him. Elias, without hesitation, drew the shroud over his body and cast the evil of his brothers away. The entity explained to the youngest of the brothers that from this day forward, his elder brother's weakness would curse the world and that they would spread their curses in their wake. The youngest brother, seeking to redeem the weakness of his elder brothers, swore from that day forward that he would stand as a defender of all mankind.

He returned home and it was there that he founded the Covenant, an order of hunters, templars and priests that would shield mankind from the ancient horrors of the night and destroy them at their source. While Viktor, James and Elias faded into legend, their progeny continued to thrive and have continued to this very day...

Sure, why not. It adds a back story and also adds onto the magic and myth.

I like it a lot. It's really short and simple and it sort've like a sorta fable that'd be made up in the 1300's so i think it fits the time period well.

This storyline reminds me a lot of the Three Brothers tale from Harry Potter. But it's still pretty banging

Maybe you could assign a faction to one person each, and have them write more stuff about it? Flesh it out a bit more.

Yes. It looks like a good storyline to me. The only thing troubling me is people roleplaying finding the sword, the crown and the veil that were bestowed upon the brothers.

That was the general idea. A basic origin story that could branch out into three defined lores.

We may allow for the three items to be discovered and used in the RP, but they'd be used by the faction leaders and passed from leader to leader to keep them within the faction. We haven't decided, given that it could lead to abuse.
