Limfrost was founded near the base of a colossal glacier in a time long forgotten, the buildings built into unimaginably large cracks in the ice, protected from bitterly cold winds and hostile marauders who used to prey upon the scattered Northern villages. The people were proud of what they had built and celebrated by building each structure with the care and an attention to detail found often only in the richest homes. The village became a tourist hub famed for the beauty of its stonework and the intimidating mountain climbing offered by the ever changing glacier.

That was what it was; now it is overrun by the same glacier that once provided it success and shelter, like a frozen tomb. Few buildings are built outside the ice now, and those that are lack the exquisite detail of the buildings that have been out of sight for hundreds of years. The glacier itself has become almost certain death to climb and as such now attracts only the most extreme thrill seekers. Under the ice, however, things are much the same as they have been since the town was founded; many of the finest homes have been excavated, exposing chambers with houses that almost appear to have grown in the giant caverns.

Every so often new houses or other establishments are found under the ice and restored to their former glory, with only the best built structures able to survive for hundreds of years entombed in ice. The results of such restorations are more often than not awe inspiring even when one takes into account that not a precious gem or expensive metal has been used in the entire city.

An unforeseen result of the town becoming subterranean has been the construction of entrances, air, heat and fireplace vents to the surface in order to keep the city from melting the top ice or worse yet, causing a cave-in. These vents have had the unintended side effect of drawing in the cold wildlife and monsters. Such beasts will wait until nightfall and then climb down into the city where they prowl the tunnels looking for prey or hunting for scraps.

If'lux
Herbivore
Both wild and partially domestic herds are found in the mountains and around the closely surrounding villages.
They are used for their thick fur, which protects from the cold, and rich meat.
Through careful bonding practices, mountain dwellers can use the If'lux as mounts. Slow but sure footed even on the icy cliffs.
When communicating over long distances, they make low bellows that travel many miles.
Need to remain in cold regions.
