It was a sinister feeling, to know one was out of one's mind enough to lack the ability to warn anyone else of one's own vacancy. The satyr's eyes were opened far too wide as he continually glanced this way and that, looking for any of his clergy on his way up to the Garden at the uppermost location of his temple. He had just arrived from a spontaneous meeting with the Goddess of Forge and Flame, and his madness had taken total control as he convinced her he needed her assistance in making raw-mineral armor for himself, in the underbelly of his oasis home. What he planned to do, instead, made his insides crawl and coil in the same moment it made him want to cackle maniacally with glee.

Once at the Garden, Syv snagged the first diakon that passed by, ordering them to personally guide the Lady Zhana up to his location once she arrived outside the temple entrance. As the woman hurried off, he began his preparations by gathering a satchel of herbs and greenery to snack on, adding possible foods for the goddess in the event, picking which among his staves he wanted to take as a possible walking aide, and even crafting from the very soil of the Garden tools that eventually took the form of a sickle and a blunt-faced hammer.

Syv found himself fully prepared during the start of his trek back down to the gateway, as waiting had become something of a bore. He didn't know when Zhana would show herself, nor what she would bring with her for the job she thought she was going to do. The satyr corrected his thoughts, then, as he had every intention of helping her create his armor. He just wanted to use it immediately and put it and her to the test. He took the shortest route to the front gate and snarled a grin at Sigard, who was resting there before returning to his governing duties. The huvud gave a tight-lipped smile, something Syv had begun to see a lot of, from others when addressing him.

[OOC: I'm currently working without a word processor of some kind, so mistakes will happen :P]

This was to be a most interesting trek, the Goddess had no doubt about that in her mind. To travel so far beneath the earth to find ore so rare and valuable as to create a set of armour for the God of Earth, Syv. Fire and Earth had not too long ago had a rather tense meeting, at least at first, but they had worked things out peacefully in the end.

Was Zhana worried? Yes, in fact she was. Since their decent would take so deep that few but Syv even knew about. Yet, despite the danger they needed to head below without their divine powers protecting them, only what they could carry. Syv had explained why this was and Zhana had little reason not to trust the Satyr. Though, she had more reason that she knew about not to trust him, but time would reveal that when it was ready.

For now, Zhana was as prepared as she could be for this. A small distance from Syv's home a gout of fire sprouted and Zhana was then left in its place when it dissipated. Right away a woman, one of Syv's people, found her and bade her to follow to the Garden, Zhana did as requested.

Fire was cutting a rather imposing figure. For a human female she was just at six feet tall, well built from her work at the Forge for so long, black hair down to her shoulders, currently held back with a bandanna from her face. Even without her Divinity to back her up, one could easily tell she was formidably strong even for a human.

Her travel gear included a large pack with some always handy supplies, including rope, gloves, a tinder box, some food of her own, and other such things. Yet, by the look of her, Zhana was dressed for war. She wore a set of armour made from a light metal, in this case chosen for its flexibility and strength despite how light it was. She didn't want something overly heavy since she wouldn't have her Divinity to compensate for the weight of some of the sets she had created. It was a dark blue in colouring, clean lines and work of art. The helm match as well, it covered her face and had two tines sloping from the cheeks outwards. Otherwise, there was no special markings on the armour, a simple set from good material that Zhana kept around for her own use.

She was armed of course as well. She carried a sword across her back, since her pack was over her shoulder, she'd have to drop her pack to draw her blade. The handle was longer that some have expected for such a normal looking blade, while the large sheath it was in had some ornate designs running down its length. One of Zhana's more favoured creations, another that she kept for herself, though rarely used. The sword, even though there was no magic in it, had a surprise for those who were on the other end of it.

"Syv." Zhana greeted when she saw the Satyr in front of her. "Good to see you again." She nodded her thanks to the lady who had escorted her here and looked back to Syv. "So, what's the plan?"

With a great flourish, Syv inclined at the waist to bow before Fire as she in turn greeted him. His topaz eyes flitted over her packs and armor, momentarily scowling as he spotted the sheathed blade on her back, but he just as quickly brushed his disapproval from his features with a broad smile.

"My Lady of the Forge, it is excellent to see you again, as well. Might I tempt you with some refreshments; perchance some tea, wine, beer, water? Or foodstuffs? Anything you might forget, I am happy to provide," the satyr crooned, his normally gruff tone slicked as though coated in a generous amount of oily honey. Sigard had followed Syv back to the Garden to continue his daily governing of the city, and now stared unabashedly at his lord as if he had never seen him before. Syv caught the look from the corner of his eye and snorted loudly at the huvud, catching the man's attention and reddening his cheeks as a long awkward silence kicked in. Sigard inclined his head in mild embarrassment, turning his eyes to the goddess pointedly, ignoring Syv altogether, before turning and hurrying from the meeting. The satyr sighed, looking to Zhana apologetically.

"Forgive us; he's one of my longest-serving servants and so considers himself nearly above my condemnation. And I suppose I'm half at fault, seeing as how I usually let him do as he pleases, since he sees to the city in my absence," he offered, then screwed his face up with a scowl and waved the potential conversation away with a flick of his large hand. "Unimportant, unimportant. Ah, need you nothing? Then permit me to guide the way below, kära."

Syv led the way to the tiny personal altar at the top of the hewn steps in the center of his Garden. Once inside the little grotto, the Earthen One glanced behind him at Zhana, flashed her a grin then returned his attention to the fount before him. He proceeded to drop his hands to the water's edge and lifted, straining as if what he worked with was massive. The far corner, shadowed by overhanging rock, rumbled then shrieked as the semblance of a door appeared on its face and pushed itself back into the tunnel to disappear from sight. Syv pivoted and offered the entrance with a grand hand sweep. "Ladies first. I shall lead once inside. "

A scowl? What for, Zhana wondered? She put the thought of her mind, however, remembering that Syv was... different, and perhaps he had thought of something he disliked and it was not hear the scowl was aimed at. At his words Zhana smiled but shook her head. "Thank you but no, I'm good for now, Syv." She replied. "I believe I have everything I need and my tools for crafting as well, at least what I can carry with me without my Divinity." She explained, now catching the look the servant was giving to his master.

This was partly why Zhana didn't like the idea of servants of priests around her home. They just didn't sit well with the Goddess, she wasn't a formal being, and was far happier doing things for herself than having someone wait on her. Krukov did well enough guarding her home, few things would think to agitate just a beast. Less so now that he had all the forged additions that Zhana had made for him to add to his already formidable prowess.

But the matter was dealt with soon enough by Syv as he waved the servant away. He asked Zhana's forgiveness for it but then waved the topic away before she could answer. Zhana followed Syv as requested to the tint alter, which she attributed to something akin to her own Anvil and Forge. She grinned back at Earth's own grin before he made the hidden entrance open before them. Zhana nodded, impressed.

Fire looked at the entrance and then back to Syv when he said to go first. Starting forward Zhana was about to step inside when she stopped suddenly and turned to look at Syv, her eyes serious. "One thing, and this vastly important to this journey working. I'm deathly afraid of spiders." She said flatly, unable to hide the disgust in her voice for the little bastards. "If you're able to remove them now from our path things will go better. If I see one, or, worse, if it... gah, gets close to touches me, I can't promise the the tunnel we're in won't become slag after I'm finished." She warned, she was that terrified and she trusted Syv on this otherwise little know and personal fact about her. Zhana would have no problem calling on her Divine power just to blast one tiny spider(and the ton of rock around it) into ash(and the rock into lava or slag).

(OOC: Oh, I will. " ))

Syv stared, glossy-eyed, at Zhana as she informed him of her terror over spiders, but gave a chagrined smile once she finished. "I'll keep my eyes open and my earth at the ready, " he chuckled, then leaned in close, "but I'll let you in on a secret- I can't stand the sight or even the mere mention of snakes! Ugh!" The satyr gave an involuntary shudder. He stared doubtfully into the dark of the steps heading down into the interior of the entryway he had just opened, as if recalling a particularly horrible incident, but gave his head a curt shake and offered Fire a tight smile before gathering his packs of necessities and beginning his descent.

They traveled in moderate silence with only an oil lantern as additional company for a time as they traversed the steps that kept them focused and alert. The tunnel was set in a wide downward spiral and sometimes was wide enough for two to walk abreast, so the two divines would at these spots walk beside each other and have light conversations in regards to nothing of great importance. Every so often, with frequency relating to the accumulation of water on the ground from a gradual increase in humidity, one of them would slip on a patch of slimy moss and have to catch the other by the elbow to prevent them from tumbling headfirst down into the dark ahead.

After a half hour, Syv slowed ahead of Zhana, holding a hand up to warn her to wait. He inched forward with his lantern, peering cautiously around the edge of the tunnel, then turned to his companion and grinned. "Welcome to the Enligt Mage, or the Underbelly!" he crowed, sweeping a hand out behind him. It was simply a muddy cave, roughly eight feet tall by six feet wide and full of red clay and stalactites, making it resemble rather horribly an open, bloody maw. "I jest; this is simply the antechamber," he amended, stooping to move over to a back corner not at first visible with the light. " Let's pause for a water break here, shall we? My throat is parched!"

When Syv promised to keep an eye for spiders Zhana nodded her thanks, but then blinked when the God of Earth said he was terrified of snakes. Zhana forced back the grin at the ironic nature of such a thing for Earth to be scared of, but she wasn't about to make fun of him considering her own fear and the power that she held. She had a full grown Ariea back home with instructions to stomp on any spider that the beast saw on Zhana's islands. "I'll keep my eyes open and keep you back should I see any." Zhana replied in return for Syv's keeping an eye for spiders for her.

When Syv turned to lead the way, however, Zhana shivered as a terrible thought ran through her mind. What if they encountered snaders down here? A word she had just made up in her own mind, but a cross between a snake and spider. She nearly threw up at the idea of it and ran out of the cave, but managed to keep herself going following Syv in the relative quiet of the tunnels.

The Satyr had brought an oil lamp and Zhana was kicking herself about not thinking on such a thing to bring herself. Too used to her powers she was, so such trivial things as a lantern she never thought of. The light conversation was nice to help pass the time as they made their way downwards in a spiral. The air continued to become damper as they moved downwards, to the point the floor was becoming slick. Zhana yelped the first time she slipped but grabbed hold of Syv to steady herself, thankful she hadn't dragged him down with her. "I need to get out more." She commented, though she had to catch Syv a couple of times as well as him catching her more as well.

Fire stopped when the hand went up and waited for Syv to speak up; what had he found? "Underbelly?" Zhana echoed as she moved up to meet Syv in the cavern before them. Red clay, not too high, not to large overall, as Syv confirmed it was mearely the antechamber. "Sounds good to me." Zhana replied to Syv's idea and produced a flask of water she had brought from within her pack. She popped the top and took a long drink before offering it to Syv.

"What do you think we'll find once we're where we need to be? Have you been there before, Syv?" Zhana asked curiously.

The Earthen One inspected the farthest wall of the antechamber, prodding here and there as Zhana took her water out. He was searching for a particular spot, though to make sure it would remain sealed or to break protocol already by opening it, he hadn't decided yet. "Oh, love, I've hermited away down here for ages, before, " he replied, the smile on his caprine face easily heard in his voice. He found the object of his searching and grinned devilishly as his fingers sank far into the clay of the wall. He listened to his companion partake of the water, weighed out whether or not he felt like drawing on Zhana's stress, yet... no, he pondered, letting the subterranean spider nest sink back into the depths of the cavern. Not yet. He needed the armor, first.

Syv turned to Fire and smiled as he took the proffered drink, tipping it on its head and nearly emptying it. "No worries, there's plenty more where that came from. Shall we continue?" He offered her back her flask, then turned back toward the far corner and stopped before it. "Now comes the fun part! " the satyr sang, his eyes wide with excitement. He focused his efforts on the blank wall, then, and began to push his flattened hands against the clay. For many minutes, nothing happened but just as it appeared as if nothing would continue to happen, a warm glow, the color of the clay, took hold of Syv's hands. He leaned heavily against the wall and it began to melt away, revealing the astonishing sight it had been shielding.

As the last of the brick-red clay stretched away, they were rewarded with a panoramic view of the subterranean oasis harbored under the true Oasis. The stone ceiling was at least a mile high; cast into shadow as it was made it hard to truly tell if there were stalactites hanging so dangerously above. As far as the eye could see, there was vegetation with an unfamiliar tealish caste to it, lit by the light of the river of magma that wound through the undergrowth like a fiery ribbon. The magma was complimented by a lake nearest to the divines, beryl underlit by the turquoise of phosphorescent fish and algae.

Syv turned wildly to take in Zhana's reaction, so far into his domain that he dare not leave anything out of his control to chance. "Well? I've got quite the cellar, eh? " he grinned at her.

[OOC: Even down here, can she still call on her Divinity when shit hits the fan? :P Oh, and I have my way of countering the spiders when the time comes ;)]

Zhana replaced her now almost empty flask of water back in her pack as Syv’s eyes danced with excitment for what was to come. She watched as he pushed against a wall that seemed normal, but Zhana knew better, he was obviously looking for a fake wall, a hidden door. She used much the same idea herself back at her own home. Within her already well locked storage building for what she had already made, Zhana had a hidden vault under it that only she knew how to get into. Within this vault were some of the most powerful creations she had ever made, along with some projects she hoped to never finish if she could help it.

However, as this door moved to reveal what it hidden behind it, even Zhana was unable to hide her surprise at beauty within. Mile high ceiling with huge stalactites hanging over head, almost threatening it drop down on the unwary below. A river of magma that, even with her Divinity locked away by Syv’s request she could feeling the purity of the Fire within it, they were deep underground. Yet here was a lake down here as well, glowing from within by the algae and fish that lived in its depths.

“This is amazing, Syv.” Zhana replied when Earth turned to catch her reaction. “To know that there is such beauty deep below the Earth, it’s like a second world down here.” She took everything in for a few moments longer before looking to Syv. “So, where do you want to start?” She asked, setting her pack down with her tools and everything in it.

The satyr quickly hid his smile as it twisted into a snarl by pivoting away from his companion to continue the charade that he was playing out with her. So quick to business! Where was the urge to visit the lava river? He'd pinned Zhana as a bit of a romantic; in his wicked thoughts, he'd seen her forget their task and approach the magma first. First! No, he needed that dreadful armor first. Magma later! Magma after he'd had her craft him his doubly-blessed armor, immune to Fire and her heat and whatever else the other divines could throw at him before he slaughtered them for undermining his immortal service....

Syv straightened, blinking absently at the cavern before him as he came back to himself. He had almost turned on her right then and there. Almost used his stone travel to sink Fire into the ground up to her throat, where he could listen to her panicked voice demand to know what he was doing, and who he thought he was. But where from there? Best not let her find out he had lied about refraining from their magicks.... He closed his glowing eyes, gathering himself and finding his center, before he turned back to his companion and smiled tightly. He was trembling all over, but fighting so hard to hide it.

"We have a bit more of a way ahead of us, min kära dam, but fear not! I have a mode of transport available to us, now," he said, sweeping an arm out over the whole of the subterranean oasis. "I hope you don't mind Areia." His smile grew into a wicked grin as a pair of said creatures wriggled their way from where they had been resting in a decently-sized, contained sand pit just to the left of the entrance the gods stood at. The huge beasts stretched languidly, yawning and snorting and grumbling to each other as they approached Zhana and Syv. He cast an expectant glance her way, failing to remember that she housed her own companion Areia on her Shield Chain Islands.

They rode for roughly a mile, ever towards the glow of the magma river, before finally dismounting near the flow, under an outcropping of stone that Syv indicated with quite some glee. "This is the spot!" he exclaimed, looking at Zhana for her reaction.
