Militia training was set to begin on the square. William stood next to their officer, Seargent Smith. Smith was a smaller man, though he wore a red coat with a great deal of pride. The two men stood together with the Baron assuring the seargent that he had done everything he requested. He has summoned all of the men of towne to the square with their muskets. He then insured he understood what the day held appropriately. The men would assemble, begin drills and work hard. At the end of their training, the army would recruit the top men and outfit them with matchlocks and begin their pay - 30,000£ per anum. They then awaited the arrival of each of the towne's men.

Earl Aberdeen got off his horse and carried his musket with him. He saw some military officers and nodded.

"'Allo Gentlemen" said David, dismounting from his carriage. "I have not a musket, but I can wield a revolver just as well."

"Guten Morgen" Hans said cheerfully as he strutted confidently into the Town Square with his revolver in his left pocket and the bullets in his right. He then stood in line with the other two men ready to receive instruction from the stout man in the red coat.

Greetings gentleman. I have spoken with the Sargeant. He encourages the revolvers as a means of side-arm, with the muskets as the primary weapon. I have used towne funds to order 12, hopefully it will not take long.

For the meantime, we shall practice with what we have. The Sargaent will identify one or more of us to obtain an officer rank to continue training.

Any questions?

Francisco comes walking at a brisk pace. He paused to catch his breath and said calmly, "I apologize for my lateness gentlemen, and I fear I've only a pistol with which to practice, but I'm ready and willing to do my best under the circumnstances".

Jean came to the training. The effect his transformation had become fully cogent, when Hans came to greet him and ask when he arrived in towne. He was now clean, shaved, clothed in upperclass clothing with his polished, gleaming sword at his side. It was not untill he spoke that his identity registered with the men. "Hallo! I ahm excited to begin our training. I do not 'ave a gun, will yew share with me, for now?" He asked the Baron, hoping for the best,

The Baron welcomed Jean, his new attendant, to the square. He was sure he knew who the officer would be. Smiling at the thought, he spoke again, "Men, we shall begin presently. Saergant. if you would?"

The saergent trained the troops hard that day. Among the finest of the trainees were Zachary and Aberdeen, though DePenn showed flashes of his true ability he also seemed to refuse to take the training seriously.

At the end of the weekend, the men returned home stiff and sore, but feeling quite a bit better about themselves and their skills.

The would meet again in June to hone their skills.
