† LUCIEN BLOODSTORM †

| Alignment | Gender | Age | Occupation | Residence | | Lawful Neutral | Male | 25 | The Order | The Sanctuary |
| Height | Weight | Build | Origins | Race | Eye Colour | Hair Colour | | 206cm / 6'7" | 125kg / 275lbs | Strength & Precision | Divine | Human | Vermillion | Black |
| Unique Features | Attire | | Lucien is a very tall man, and on top of this, his build makes him a powerful adversary. Large enough to inflict damage, but svelte enough to strike with precision, he is a well-rounded and capable combatant - and it shows in both gait and action. Holding himself with movements one might assign a direwolf or lion, his every action seems measured to maximize potential while reducing the use of energy. In short, he is deliberate, calculated and precise - a statement of existence which is very blatant to those who know what to look for. | Lucien is almost perpetually seen in his uniform; a black affair of cloth and leather, though for heavier duty assignments he has been known on occasion to don thick, reinforced plate. However, for the day to day and all but the most extraordinary circumstances, his usual choice of clothing remains his dark, ominous clothing. Both as a statement of duty and a remark of intent: the dark colour serves to only accentuate his aura of combat readiness. |

| Likes | Dislikes | Hobbies | Aspirations | Fears | Women, Weapons, Armour, Battle, Music | Demons, Undead, Corruption, Politicians
| Weapons Mastery, Strategy, Tactics, Warfare | Helping the Innocent, Defending Sanctum, Victory | Failing Sanctum |
| Lucien is decisive, ruthless and loyal. A firm believer not just in the 'system', but in the basic desires for people to do the right thing, and the spirit of cooperation; he is both repulsed by senseless violence and enchanted by honourable combat. This contradiction is best defined in his role as a member of the Order, offering his life and indeed his reason for existing to be taken and shaped by those that defend Sanctum, enforce its laws and ensure the security and safety of its populace. He is steadfast, uncompromising and diligent - both intellectually and physically capable, leading to a sense of confidence and leadership that few can match. Lucien is a born Leader. |
| † SKILLS † | | Weapons Master: | Lucien has trained extensively from a very young age with every manner of weaponry available, from blades to spears and axes, even strange weapons like chain-whips and throwing stars. If it can kill, chances are, Lucien is highly proficient if not a master with it. The exception to this is any kind of firearm.
| | Charisma: | Lucien can charm most people or terrify them simply with his personality. Not so much a skill as much as just a side effect of his nature, most either adore or despise him, with very few standing on the fence. This allows him to both diffuse and antagonize situations per his desires, with relative ease.
| | Soldier: | Lucien possesses rigorous amounts of discipline and a very adept sense of self and personal duty. His natural tolerances to pain, fear and mental assault are also scaled higher due to the training received from the Order. Being that he is just a Human, these resistances pale when compared to the more supernatural races inhabiting Sanctum - but for one of his species, he's definitely a cut above the rest. |
|
| † POWERS † | Aside from peak physical fitness and generous intelligence, Lucien has only one outstanding power or ability of note. He also possess disciplines derived from both his training and life as a soldier and citizen of Sanctum.

| Heavenly Arsenal: | Lucien has the unique ability to bind the spirits of fallen foes, or rather their sentience and consciousness, to weapons of his choosing. Made from fine steel, and able to withstand tremendous punishment, while maintaining a sharp edge - these blades constitute the central point of Lucien's ability to operate successfully in the Order and as a Wraith. Bound to his will by unknown forces, the method of forging them is less a learned trait and more a natural ability he cannot fully quantify. Lucien simply knows how to create these weapons, and uses that knowledge dilligently. He is able to summon or dismiss the blades at will, and can command them with a form of telekinesis that is more akin to mental command and obedience. The blades hear and obey, essentially. Furthermore, Lucien cannot create or have more than 10 of these weapons at any time. That is to say he literally cannot have more than 10 in existence, for reasons he does not even understand. Once 10 exist, he cannot make another, no matter how much he wishes to, unless he destroys an existing one. Each blade has a unique name and form, and are listed in his equipment. They are razor sharp, and are capable of weathering incredible punishment before breaking or being destroyed. Limitations: Lucien can summon up to a maximum of FIVE weapons at once, however he cannot independently control these weapons to attack those around him, and he cannot do more than mentally throw them at enemies. As long as the weapon does not travel more than TEN metres away, he can recall it to his hand. While not being used, the summoned weapons orbit his person, at a maximum range of TWO metres. This orbit is controlled by Lucien. If a weapon goes beyond its operational limit, he must wait TWO posts to resummon it, or replace it with another weapon. However, he can freely interchange orbiting weaponry.
| | The Void: | Lucien can compartmentalize his emotions and fears and drive them towards a state of cold awareness. Not anything supernatural, but instead a natural byproduct of his love for combat, he is able to enter battle focused and calm, and maintain a level of resistance to outside influences that would distract or confuse lesser soldiers. For example, seeing a family member killed - while horrifying - would not break his focus.
| | Null Factor: | Derived from years of loyal service, hundreds of hours on the field of battle and a natural disinclination towards failure, Lucien has built his pain tolerance. While being stabbed or shot or sliced is still going to hurt him a fair amount, he is able to push past the pain and compartmentalize it, lowering the debilitating effects associated to a wound. For example, if he were to suffer a broken arm, he could still swing his blade with it, assuming the limb itself was still relatively functional. |
| Demi-God | Lucien is ageless, immune to disease and sickness, and cannot be affected by fear effects, or basic compulsion that would lead to fear, retreat or turning away from a fight. | Divine Bloodlust | Lucien possesses a passive hereditary trait from his Father, Ares, which is aptly named 'Divine Bloodlust'. It is a compulsion upon Lucien that forces him to need to accept any challenge, so long as it is issued by a foe capable of battle, that comes his way. Furthermore, this bloodlust is the trigger for all his divine gifts. If Lucien is not ruthless, or if he shows weakness or cowardice in battle, the Divine Bloodlust will wrack him with physical agony that can become debilitating, as well as significantly reduce his healing and pain tolerance beneath standard human levels. In essence, he is rewarded with power for violence, and punished for amnesty. | The Mantle | Lucien possesses an ability derived from his godly parentage called 'The Mantle'. The Mantle is a manifestation of his origins in a manner that elaborates in a visual way his ties to the God of War. Appearing in different forms as an aura that surrounds the Knight, it does not throw light on its surroundings, but it does illuminate Lucien. The Mantle itself also provides healing to Lucien, which increases in power and strength the longer he is exposed to the brutality of battle. The states and nature of the Mantle, are listed below.
- Stage One: The Mantle appears as a faint red aura, akin to flickers of fire, leaping around Lucien's body - clinging to him and dancing in and out of existence. At this point, it is relatively useless, and can only heal small cuts and bruises.
- Stage Two: The Mantle is a solid, red aura, and exudes Lucien's rage and battle lust. At this point, it is fully active, and substantially increases his in-combat healing factor. This allows him to regenerate any minor - moderate wound instantly, including internal damage, and begin to rapidly heal major injuries over the course of several minutes.
- Stage Three: The Mantle has consumed Lucien, and makes him appear as if he were garbed in ancient battle plate, made entirely of red-gold light. In this state, Lucien appears like an Avatar of Ares, and nothing short of decapitation or a direct shot to the skull and brain will put him down. He is able to regenerate any wound without trouble, and cannot be slowed or deterred by pain or damage. Dismemberment will heal within minutes, and only true decpitation will kill him. As a side effect of the level of divine power manifesting around him, Lucien will cause fractures in any surface he walks on, which will spread out around him if he remains in one place, to a maximum distance of two metres.
Lucien is also able to will himself to appear in any stage, visually, at will. However, this has no bearing on his regeneration abilities. He is able to use these 'illusions' as a means to attempt to intimidate or terrify his foes, though no actual compulsion is at work. As this does, however, require him to focus on his in-born rage and battle-craving, he does empathetically emit degrees of raw, divine anger.

| † POSSESSIONS † |
| Avalon: | Lucien's longsword and primary weapon, Avalon, is a uniquely constructed blade gifted to him by Gavin Mercer and refined by the smiths of the Order, infused with the spirit of a slain foe. Not magical aside from its sentience, the blade itself remains functional and lethal. Razor sharp on one side, and reinforced for blocking on the other, the weapon is ideal for Lucien's slashing approach to combat. While useful for stabbing, its design lends its imperative towards bloodying a foe with mutliple, deep wounds via the sword's lethal tip and upper blade, while the wave design lends itself towards an excellent parrying ability. It's a well-rounded weapon, lethal in the hands of a true swordsman. Dimensions: 3.5 foot blade, 0.7 foot hilt; capable of being wielded one or two handed with equal ease.
| | Veritas: | A triple-headed axe-pike with a central spike, a crescent blade, two axe blades beneath and another smaller pair beneath those; Veritas is a sweeping weapon designed for devastating combat and long range assault, as well as area assaults. Not designed to be handled in rapid combat situations, the weapon is ideal for charges from horseback and use against large, lumbering foes where reach trumps speed and manoeuverability. Dimensions: 7 feet from tip to butt. 1 foot top spike, 5 foot shaft. Maximum width of 5.7 inches feet at widest blade.
| | Nox: | A double-ended staff blade, Nox is designed along the premise of rapid strikes and multi-foe combat. Used for spinning, slicing and acrobatic attacks, it can be wielded one or two handed by the grip at its centre, and is best used against multiple opponents in rapid succession. Designed more for offence than for defence, Nox does not have as much application in protracted battles, and is mostly used to rapidly dispatch enemies, or as a warding tool to get space. Dimensions: 4 feet from tip to tip, 6 inches maximum width at widest point. Each blade roughly 2 feet long.
| | Reaver: | A single-headed, lethal battle ax with a curving, spined second blade on its back, Reaver is designed for massive damage and sweeping assaults. Best used against mounted foes, large foes or massive groups - the weapon is not designed to be wielded with precision. While it does not have the tactical reach of Veritas, Reaver instead compliments the pike's lack of raw force by being designed to really bring the pain. Reinforced against shock and given a healthy length of shaft, Reaver can be used to clear Lucien's immediate vicinity of massing enemies rapidly, and can also be deployed as an effective crowd control tool remotely when in the right situation. Dimensions: 5.5 feet from tip to butt. 1.5 foot axe head length, 4 inches blade width. 3.5 foot shaft.
| | Gemini: | Two smaller connected blades make up Gemini, which can be detached into a pair of rapid-strike swords, or used together much in the same manner as Nox. For Lucien, however, the obvious choice is one in each hand. This double-handed combat style allows for more blocking and parrying potential, and also gives him the ability to fight multiple enemies with more freedom of movement than Nox can often provide. Though not as adept at rapid assault or warding strikes as a staff-blade, the twin-sword fighting style allows for a seamless flow of blows, each individually weaker than a two-handed attack, but fast enough to potentially wear down and exhaust an opponent with mutliple cuts and slashes. Best used in group combat situations. Dimensions: 2.6 feet total lengths, 2.3 feet per blade, 2.4 inches width. One handed hilts.
| | Onyx: | A serrated shortsword with two edges, Onyx sports a jagged sawtooth appearance on one end and a razor sharp, faintly curved cutting edge on the other. Used for carnage more than precision, Onyx is Lucien's go-to weapon as far as intimidation and viciousness are concerned. Capable of inflicting horrific wounds and ripping away large chunks of flesh and bone, Onyx is best employed against creatures with healing factors - as the chaotic nature of the weapon allows it to demolish bodies and dismember entire limbs in the most brutal, gore-filled manner possible. Dimensions: 3 feet from tip to butt, 2.3 foot blade, 7 inches hilt, 3.5 inches thickness.
| | Vindication: | Vindication is Lucien's greatsword, and one of his most devastating weapons. Functional both for single combat and large groups, Vindication is balanced with an artistry Lucien has not been able to replicate. Just heavy enough to force him to wield it two-handed, but shaped and built light enough to still have some form of agility, Vindication allows him to match larger opponents blow for blow, and deliver intense damage to small groups in rapid succession. Shaped with a gradually widening blade and a hammerhead tip ending in two points, Vindication rips flesh, bone and muscle with equal ferocity. Capable of cleaving clean through the unprepared, it is not a weapon to be taken lightly on the battlefield. Dimension: 6 feet tip to butt, 5.2 foot blade, 8 inches hilt, 5.2 inches at widest.
| | Mercer: | Mercer is a Warhammer forged for the purpose of shieldbreaking and crushing foes with brute force. Made entirely of metal as all the other weapons are, and equipped with studs on its massive circular face, the warhammer is essentially a giant meat masher, shattering bone and disfiguring bodies with every blow. As could be expected, this weapon is not precisely 'practical', and is best used for, well, smashing things. Like its namesake, the weapon is a veritable unstoppable force, and can only be wielded slowly and ponderously. That being said, it packs quite the punch. Dimensions: 5.5 feet length tip to butt, 1.5 feet head height, 1.7 feet head width, 4 feet shaft.
| | Dominion: | Dominion is the weapon of choice when faced with a duelist, or rapid assault foe. Though Avalon holds its own in such situations, nothing can compare with the speed, grace and flexibility of a rapier. Relatively simple in design, the razor - albeit thin - blade is capable of punching through all but the most reinforced armour, and can slice shallow furrows through an opponent's flesh with terrifying ease. Designed purely for precision, it has no practical use in group battles or against a foe with a heavier weapon, as the Rapier cannot stand up to the raw force of a heavier assault. In its niche, however, Dominion is unmatched for both speed and accuracy. Dimensions: 4 feet tip to butt, 3.5 feet blade, 5 inch hilt and 2 centimetre thick crossguard.
| | Judgement: | A lance. That is the simplest and truest way to describe Judgement. It is a cavalry lance, used as a particularly large projectile or, more appropriately, in mounted combat. Designed for no other purpose than to serve as a powerful tool in a charge, Judgement has small wave-like blades along its length, but is for the most part smooth. The blades are arced towards the grip, so as to tear flesh and bone when ripped out of an enemy. Lucien has used it to devastating effect the few times he has been involved in mounted warfare. Dimensions: 9 feet long, 0.5 inches around at tip, 9 inches around at base, 5 inch hilt. |
| Elethyr: | Lucien's warhorse and loyal companion, Elethyr has been with him since he was fully inducted into the Order at 22. Now three years old, and trained fully as a steed of war, the Horse bears its master's mercurial temper and love for combat. Always chomping at the bit to charge into battle, and lethal with both hoof and armoured head, the Horse serves as a living weapon as much as Lucien's closest friend. Standing at nearly six feet on all fours, and weighing around 150kg / 385lb, the Horse is a true-bred tool of war. He's also got a fondness for apples. | | | Horse Armour: | Elethyr's armour is made from good steel, and a gift from the Order. Designed to protect the charger while in pitched battle, and allow both the horse and its master to fight as a unit, it is equipped with enough reinforcement and spiked death to ensure that only the truly skilled, those opponents which no Knight should face alone regardless, are able to fell the mighty beast. | |
|
† RELATIONSHIPS †
| Gavin Mercer: | Lucien's mentor and tutor through childhood, and friend and older brother figure in adulthood. Gavin Mercer was the first teacher Lucien knew, and is responsible for much of his combat mastery. Having been a student of the Mercenary Captain for the majority of his young life, and studiously learned everything the man could teach, Lucien owes much of his exemplary performance despite his human genetics directly to Gavin's strict tutelage. He shares a fairly fraternal, at times paternal relationship with the Mercenary Commander that few around them fully notice, save perhaps for Orphael. | |
|
| † HISTORY † | Born to a reasonably wealthy Human family in Sanctum's interior, and raised by a loving, albeit strict mother; Lucien was introduced to warfare and weaponry at a young age. Given access to whatever tuition, practice and training that could be afforded and provided, he was groomed to join the prestigious 'Order' from the moment he could walk. Tutored in subterfuge, warfare, strategy, tactics, weapons mastery and leadership - his mother all but assured that he would rise to fulfill a pivotal role, one day in the future, for Sanctum. His life was no mess of crime or hardship, but instead a rigorous regime of structured and ordered doctrine. Lucien was born and raised to be a Soldier, to be the best a Human can be. Despite his mortal limitations, it is this past which drives him, pushes him, and furthers him towards greater things.
