So you'd like to know more about me? The Solaris Line was known once as great fighters and weapon specialist. They were a large lineage filled with Angelic figures, often known for marrying within the family to keep the genetics strong. They kept the people safe, they obeyed all laws, fought valiantly for the Sanctum, gave till it hurt, bled to keep others safe and after many centuries their large lineage was slowly whittled down to one last family. The remaining line was a man named Godric and his wife Kasey. Together the two of them had twin children, a daughter named Oriphiel and a younger son named Samael. Oriphiel was born with the most beautiful halo, the second in all of her lineage only granted to her great, great grandfather who had passed many centuries ago. Their family was well to do so they gave them the best of their world with private tutors, private martial arts instructors, catered meals, and anything the children could ever ask for. But even with all the lavish lifestyle, the children were under strict restrictions. Every moment of their days were scheduled, watched over, and guided. The only peace they were given was at ten at night, in which they slept together in the same room as by their request, until five in the morning when they were woken to start a new day. The twins were bonded deeply, sometimes never even having to speak to communicate their wants, feelings, or needs to each other. With no cousins and hardly any personal time to make friends outside their parent’s political groups, the twins quickly learned that they would be each other’s only company for a long time to come. From time to time they would quarrel like any children, but their mother was always there to show them the error of fighting. Kasey taught the children a deeper love for family, and that the bloodline that ran through them was the same as the great Arch Angel Michael. She would tell them tales of how Michael was a warrior, but above all he was family to his kin. Family became the center of the twin’s universe. Oriphiel, being the eldest, was given the task of always protecting her younger brother as he was far rasher than she about important decisions. Her parents were impressed that Ori took to leadership like a fish to water. She thrived on scheduling, discipline, and getting tasks done. She was eager to always please her parents and show them that one day she would be able to lead the house with little problem. Their father was often their fighting instructor, and on every Sunday without fail after church their parents would take them out to lunch, and then they would return home for family time. Family time was an assortment of fun activities. To the children these fun activities were just harmless games, but to many people it was easy to see the children were in fact playing war games. One Sunday they remember fondly how their mother planned a picnic with all their favorite foods and drinks. Their father played games with them well after the sun set and at the end of the night their parents and the twins camped out in the yard with a small fire for roasting marshmallows. Another Angelic line near to their own contacted their family upon the twin’s 16th birthday, wanting to marry their younger daughter to Samael to bring the houses together for a strong power. Their father, however, saw something truly dark in the other family’s intention and declined the offer. It would be the start of the downfall of the family. Godric left for the lower Sanctum due to some riots that were taking place, he wanted to go and help the people of the lower rank to try and show them that violence was not the way. Three days passed with no word… only for the body to be brought back upon the fourth. His body had been mutilated, making it very clear that before death... their father had been tortured suffered greatly. And that is when the first chaos started to begin. After the arrival of Godric’s body, Kasey was accused of giving master weaponry to the people outside the sanctum and trying to over throw the current system. Kasey swore that their family was innocent… till the lives of her children were brought into the mix. Rumors spread like wildfire that the family had wanted to become more powerful and be the leaders, and that the man and wife had wanted their children to rule. Knowing her kids lives were now in danger… Kasey gave a false confession. She claimed that she and Godric had planned on killing the leaders, but that their children were never involved… and that they had been planning on sacrificing their own children to achieve something far more heinous. She gave up all rights to head of the house, which mean now that Oriphiel would be the next leader. Her mother was tried… and Ori for the first time allowed herself to see the true corruption of the city. The family who had offered their daughter’s hand in marriage was suddenly by Ori’s side… whispering lies and tall tales in the young woman’s ear. But Ori was an intelligent young woman… she allowed them to believe that she nothing of their deceit. It was all lies, as little Ori knew from late night talks she would hear when her parents thought the children were fast asleep. Little did they know that Ori would rest her sneaking skills out by spying on her parents… the greatest challenge of all. When judgment day came… the twins were seated near the execution stand. They watched as their mother was brought out in stocks. Her once beautiful white gowns were torn, matted, dirty, and her beautiful golden hair was cut off. She was forced to kneel on the wood and head slung over a slab as the executioner approached. Her mother eyes rose to them… the pain of her sacrifice radiated to her children whom she had raised and nurtured. The other house’s leader moved to Ori’s right… his hand laid on her shoulder and it took all of Ori’s power not to disembowel him as the blade was brought down upon their mother’s neck. A clean slice and the head dropped into the basket. Women, children, and men applauded the sight of a supposed traitor’s life being taken. Oriphiel could feel the very last of her humanity sealed away as the body was pushed into a cart and wheeled away by a mule. Neither of her parents were allowed a proper burial... an even greater injustice to their lineage. But the twins knew better. They knew their family was innocent. Oriphiel was appointed head of house, and with such many warning came to be well behaved and that they would be watched over. It only took one week for another invitation of marriage to come from the other family once more. And that was when the twins decided… changes must be made. What makes me such a grand individual? With nobility comes laziness.. A stink that had plagued most of the houses around his own. However his own family took to a rather.. Disciplined route. For the past years of his life the young man picked up a few rather useful skills.. With power comes responsibility? Right.. Now that their parents had passed or rather.. Murdered. Samael acquired quite a bit of wealth. Usually using it only on foods, cloths and trinkets. It barely even scratches the surface of his families past expenditures. Now it was all his sisters and his own. Royal divinity: The Solaris family line holds true ties to one certain Arch angel. Long ago it was said that the general of heaven taught his family's lineage how to defend themselves from evil. Focusing their celestial weapons with a unique hand to hand combat gives them quite the edge against demonic or otherwise evil foe. Sacred Charisma, Silver tongue: Being brought up in his life style would lead to lacking such great qualities. However with the disciplinary distilled into him by his late father gave the young man an unnatural charisma. Most people follow his words with out question by how strongly he secretes conviction. Divine essence Penance: A celestial artifact given to him by his father was his greatest weapon. The silver cross hilt had no holding for a blade, but through divine energy. Channeling the divine essence into the blade gives it a rather bright golden flamed blade. The divinity surging from the enchanted blade seemed as ripples of flame given off a fire. Even if the blade seemed all holy, the properties act only as a normal sword would. However the blade can be turned off, diminished if only for a short moment, then reignited. (Sword length is that of a Falchion.) Radiance, Eternal flame: Through a vast expenditure of his stamina. Samael is able to surge a sudden burst of divinity into Penance. The resulting light would blind demonic beings for a full minute, humans far less. However if the person in front of him is a human who has enacted several Sinful deeds(LIKE MURDER!) it will effect them as if a mildly blinding light for 30's. If this is preformed, Penance will slowly begin to fade into nothing, not even a swords blade. Leaving nothing, but the holy instrument in his hand. 30's of minor blindy blind to humans with cardinal sins. 1 Minute for any demonic being. Divine Right: It was a difficult birth for his mother when it came time for Samael. Even she almost didn't survive. The young child had been born with a small pair of bones jetting out of his shoulders. Later on his life they slowly began to grow into massive full scale wings to fit his body. This was considered one of the highest forms of divinity among his family. Although many children had died in the womb along with their mothers with this condition. It would also be one of the reasons why there had been only a few before who survived. His wings give him the ability to fly about, however a very extreme ritual must be preformed to maintain the divinity, strength and bond. A blood sacrificed must be maintained to reinvigorate the strength of his faith. This is most likely the case of why most Angels seemed holy looking on the battle field, as if never touched. When in actuality, the unnatural force of the wings pools blood to them. Wrapping himself only momentarily with them allows the wings to engorge the blood from his body or clothing. Once the spirit, faith in his body has been restored, the second part of the ritual requires him to fly to holy ground. During the flight the blood burns off the wings, leaving a red streak of dust in the skies above. If this is not preformed monthly, he will lose the use of his wings. Only regaining them after penance for his actions. He can fly up to 60Mph, for three hours a day. Absolution: Even though he considers every one of the creatures on this plain unholy. Not everything is made as such. Even the fallen were once angels themselves. Their past good deeds staining the very soul of his being. However the Solaris family has always kept such good ties to the light even after fighting. This abilities takes an hour a day to complete. Bathing in holy water, this ritual cleanses Samael and his sister of all sins taken on that day. Sacred Resolve: The strength of his lineage gives him strength, agility and reflexes that are well above human standards. Being durable to most blows, demon's and demonic weapons tend to deal greater damage. But alas, as the light of day fades to darkness, his strength will diminish to that of a normal adult when reaching the pinnacle of the night. Physical strength: x2.5 That of a normal human adult till Midnight. Reflexes: x2.0 That of a normal human adult till Midnight. Agility: x2.0 That of a normal human adult till Midnight. "The rising sun giving new strength every morning, but as night breaks my power slowly fades." What does one carry on ones person? One silver cross shaped sword hilt, several white silk robes. Also money. Relationships None THREAD TRACKER Edited by Lust, Aug 18 2014, 12:19 AM.

___Would you serve in Heaven,___ or rule in Hell?

Yeah... these pair are going to get into a lot of trouble. My initial concern is that Samael has a lot going on. But lets see what we can do with it ![]() The blanket ‘evil’ description in his Radiance and Sacred Resolve abilities is a difficult one because ideas of evil and good are subjective at best, I’m not sure if it would be as simple as black and white. Does it affect creatures which would be considered inherently evil, such as demons / undead... or is it based more on their actual sins? Is the blinding effect on his Radiance permanent or would it fade after x number of seconds / minutes? And because I’ve made everyone else do it, I need some kind of indication for how long, far, fast he could fly. There are a couple other angels already approved on the board if you wanted some ideas. (Asmodeus and Cicely) I know that no one likes numbers, but Sacred Resolve will need some modifiers. Such as exactly how much stronger, agile and durable he is compared to a human. |
