Unique Features: The "M" of the Merrow Clan (Scorpio "M") is tattooed above his right eye, his left arm, and his lower back, just above the standard Merrow tattoo of his name, which reads "Zubaneshamali". He also has a long scar on the right side of his face, starting two inches from the right of his eye and going straight down for eight inches. It is black and spongy, and when he physically exerts himself a great deal, enough to sweat, it can sometimes start to ooze a little blood, though the blood comes out colored bright neon green. He also has a burn scar on his left arm, which reads "Blood Failure".
Attire: Usually either armor, or, if relaxing, it could be anything, though he prefers comfort. He always wears a necklace of the white half of yin and yang around his neck on a chain.


PERSONALITY


The greatest aspect of Zubaneshamali's personality is his deep-rooted belief in that everything is balanced, and balance is everything. He can rationalize almost anything to three different designs of balance: Line, Triangle, or Square. Line would be two opposites, such as an unstoppable object versus an immovable object. Neither can prevail over the other; therefore, neither can win or lose and thus both will always exist. Triangle is a as it says, such as Rock-Paper-Scissors. A real-world example would be that a fighter could beat a mage but would lose to a tank, and a mage could beat a tank but lose to a fighter. In that aspect, none can move against the strong because that exposes themselves to their weakness and all three become annihilated. The last is square: it means that everything has a similar opposite, a reverse-opposite, and a reverse-similar opposite. For example, for every happy rich man there is an unhappy rich man, a happy poor man, and an unhappy poor man. He also believes that all actions wind up being balanced. To take a quote from "Tales of Symphonia", "life survives at the cost of another". In some ways, that's a good thing, like if Zubaneshamali receives a kindness, he'll give one in return. On the other hand, for a zealot of the idea of balance like Zubaneshamali, it could also be really bad: in his beliefs, if he saves a life, he must also kill somebody for interfering with the world around him. If somebody saves his life, he may kill them in order to send them to Death in his place. He has before. It also means that one good event in a person's life must have an equal and opposite amount of evil. For example, somebody has something good happen. They can either have one bad thing done to equal it or two lesser bad things happen to balance it. The reverse is also true. So long as an equal amount of good and bad occurs, it doesn't matter the quantity of events on either side so long as the sum total rivals the other and effectively creates an unstoppable object versus an immovable force.

In other words, Zubaneshamali believes balance is everything. He is unwavering in this, has absolute faith in it, and will rationalize anything and everything in order to match to this belief.

PERSONAL HISTORY


The origins of the Merrow Clan started centuries ago, when the first Merrows were to said to have made contracts with nonhumans or the water, the forests, and the mountains. What the Merrow Clan desired was a place of sanctuary, hidden from the rest of the world. There are presently no known official records of these alleged contracts known to remain, but Clan legends suggest there was once a fourth species there, an Air elemental, and their little valley was once known as Pentacle Element because it encompassed earth, air, water, and nature. This Clan legend suggests the Merrow Clan was originally of an elemental race that formed the fifth point of the spiritual pentacle, but in a war with the Air Elementals, or possibly in order to enter the mortal plane, or as a result of interbreeding, the Merrow Clan became at the end little more than humans with preternatural abilities.

Three existed, when Zubaneshamali Merrow was born, three main branches of the Merrow Clan: the assassins of toxic water, the monks of the changing earth, and the mages of the forest. Zubaneshamali, of course, was born to the mages of the forest. As the most varied and the strongest of the Clans, the Forest Merrows were the guardians from potential invaders from the land. Zubaneschamali was born with almost no magical talent, according to the Merrow Clan, in the same year as a magical prodigy was born. Because Zubaneschamali was considered the balance and the cost from the forces that balance the world, he was allowed to live, albeit he was branded as a failure of the Clan Bloodline and was exiled from the houses of the three Clans, sent instead to live where all the "born failures" among the Merrows lived: in the "orphanage" near the lake, little more than a one-room shed that only covered the barest of necessities. Being a "bloodline failure" among the Merrows meant, if you weren't killed outright, your family and your Clan disowned you, you were not allowed to take the name of Merrow, and you were essentially a slave and a soldier meant to increase the comfort of those who had been born "properly".

Zubaneschamali Moss was raised like normal "bloodline failures" until his instructors realized his skill without magic was overcoming every opponent they put him against. As a test, they put him up in a contest against a "properly born" Merrow, one from the upper-middle ranks in terms of being a fighter, one who'd proved themselves in actual contacts and had over a dozen kills under their belt. Armed with his favorite weapon, a scythe, Zubaneschamali, who'd never killed or seen actual combat, managed to create a tie match with his opponent Merrow, though received a nasty scar on the side of his face for his efforts. In the same fight, he revealed a previously hidden talent: though he had no magic by normal Merrow standards, he did possess the ability to manipulate seeds in order to give them different magical effects. Impressed, the Merrow Clan began to train him as they would a normal Merrow, curious to see how far he might go.

At the age of fourteen, it was decided by the three heads of the Merrow Clan, after insistence by several influential members of the Clan, to make him a Merrow, ignoring his "Blood Failure" status. It was a two-to-one vote, with only the head of the Water Merrow Clan in objection. The Water Clan Leader, called Mother Merrow, insisted a Blood Failure wasn't to be trusted, and that if Zubaneschamali was made a Merrow it would lead to the downfall of the Clan. However, the idea the Merrows could fall was laughed at, and Zubaneshamali Moss became Zubaneschamali Merrow and joined the Moss Merrow Clan.

One year to the day, the Moss Merrow Clan attacked the Water Merrow Clan and slaughtered nearly every man, woman, or child of the Clan with a few exceptions they dragged away for torture and "interrogation" over a secret revolt the Moss Clan claimed the Water Clan had been planning. Among these was the unfortunate Lorelei Merrow, captured by Zubaneschamali himself. After her capture, the two have not met since, as Zubaneschamali believes her dead.

Zubaneschamali left the Merrow Clans shortly afterward as the Earth Clan and the Moss Clan started fighting as well. It was said some of the Water Clan and some of the Earth Clan had helped in the genocide of the Water Clan, and whether or not that was true enough, Zane had already had enough of the Merrows and felt that there was nothing left for him there. So, he left.

Within two years he had managed to make his way to the Explorer's Guild. He joined up under a false name (Zane Moss) and keeps his actual name a well-guarded secret to this day, and while mostly he has been away, out in the wilderness, he makes a point of showing up every few months to check in and take on a job or two. What he does out in the wild, he does not elaborate on, but it's clear he's the type who isn't afraid of killing a few innocents if it's the means to a perceived end.

Zubaneschamali has a preference for polearms- his favorite is a scythe, but he can also use others such as but not limited to spears, lances, staves, and halberds. He also likes to throw around small objects like balls and seeds. Although his goal isn't to hit the target head-on but rather hit the general area, he can still be deadly accurate if he wants to be- emphasis on deadly. He can hide his emotions and thoughts really well, and hide both even better if he's telling the truth but omitting certain bits of information. It might be said that the more emotionless he is, the more he's hiding.



POWERS


Appearance Change: "By the light of night" (BYLON)

Every twelve hours, Zubaneschamali's appearance changes. From 6 am to 5:59 pm, he has dark hair and grey eyes and no magic; from 6 pm to 5:59 am he has green hair, green eyes, and has access to his seed magic. This happens every night and every morning, instantly, without fail, and for no known reason. It is something to do with the Moss Merrow Bloodline and does not matter about the moon phase or whether or not he's indoors or outdoors. To be noted, it's a "condition" that only affects a few Merrow. It's suspected that Zubaneschamali may have had parents from two different Clans, or that he only had one Merrow parent, and that's why he has that "condition".

Power name: Seed Manipulation

Description: Zubaneschamali can infuse seeds with his energy into the size and shape of a baseball, where he can throw or drop them, etc. and they will burst open, emitting a gas (except for the Black Seed) with an effect based off the color of the seed. These seeds must already exist; he cannot grow them himself.

Red seed: No gas, just sends shrapnel over a five-foot radius. (think of a broken glass plate or vase and you'll get the idea)
White Seed: When eaten, increases a body's natural healing for 6 hours. Only one can be eaten at a time in a period of 24 hours or they become poisonous instead. The healing is increased by about 25% and does not work on the caster Zubaneshamali himself.
Green seed: When it bursts open, it will emit a gas that gives every sentient creature who inhales it, including Zubaneschamali, the simulated effects of marijuana.
Yellow Seed: White it bursts open, it will emit a gas that clears the heads of those who inhale the gas of the effects of intoxicating substances like marijuana (even if they're simulated by other substances). If said substance is still around, such as a gas, or something in the bloodstream, it will either only lessen the effects, or, more likely, not work at all.
Purple seed: When it bursts open it releases an edible jelly that splatters everywhere and has the stickiness of superglue when it hardens within five minutes (but it's edible, so it can just be eaten)
Brown seed: When it bursts open, it turns into a mulch that can rapidly accelerate the growth of plants (think miracle gro on steroids) (for example, a 2-inch pine tree could grow to 7 feet in 5 days on average)
Black seed: When it bursts open, it takes the form of a random flower with 13 tentacles for roots (Oh come on, gotta have a tentacle reference for plants! XD) It will dissolve into a gas that causes a mild and temporary mist-based pheromone rush in those who breathe it in if Zubaneschamali takes his eyes off it for five seconds or more at any one time (excluding blinking) and while this remote-controlled puppet is active, Zubaneschamali cannot move from his current location or it will dissolve. This puppet has all the durability of a stuffed animal, so it can be beaten up or torn apart. The tentacles will regenerate if the flower is not destroyed, however. The tentacles have a maximum six-foot range and the puppet plant can move about by using the tentacles as legs.

Restrictions/additional notes: Because his power is entirely plant-based, both extreme heat and extreme cold slow his power down. For the effects to work as intended, the temperature must be between 45 degrees and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, with best results achieved between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Outside of the total range, within 10 degrees, it only has a 50-50 chance to work, and beyond that not at all. The gas is flammable and will burn up quickly if it's too near an open heat source. Insecticide can also kill his Black Seed "construct" that isn't gas-related. In an enclosed space it will work much more quickly, but in an open area such as a park or on the street while the effect is slowed by half the area of effect is increased by one-fourth. He can only use this power with seeds and nothing else- not even acorns or pine cones, and while the type of seed is not restricted its effects are halved if the seed has been processed (salted, roasted, or other etc.) which means it's best if the seeds used are taken directly from the fruit or so themselves. He cannot store modified seeds for later; they must be used within 5 minutes of infusing his power into these seeds.

Most of this looks fine, however, the synthetic fabric is a non issue in Sanctum. They don't have the means or technology to produce synthetic fabrics, everything's made from wool and cotton and the like.

edited; added some info to personality, edited the blue seed spell, added the white, yellow, and grey to further push the idea of balance into the character. I'm still missing an orange and a pink but those I can go for later when I have better ideas/want character progression, as well as seed colors combined, like polka-dot or striped. Anyways, I believe this should put it up for review again, gnite, good luck, and have fun y'all

XD yeah; also, i suppose I should apologize and explain for why i was laughing. I do get where you're coming from, and I understand, but still, see, i just find it funny that it's not the grape jelly super glue, its not the healing seed or the marijuana gas, its not the one that grows into a tentacle monster, its the random and pointless costume change that is the issue.
