![]() A public home for Irish immigrants who were forced to leave Ireland during the Great Famine. They take great pride in their heritage and come to the Green Man to drink in celebration of each other and their successes and to mourn those who are lost. Here there is a kinship that they don't find anywhere else in the city as the residents of York treat them as if they had the plague, giving them a wide berth to avoid any real contact - physical, but social as well. Those not of Irish descent won't be turned away, but should they speak badly of their homeland, it's very likely that a fist fight will be the result.
