Ugh. I don't mind opinions, but some of the stuff he wrote about is so narrow-sighted that it is horrendous. No, Dracula shouldn't have been Ventrue. By reading Bram Stoker's novel it is easy to see why he would fit the Tzimisce label much more than the Ventrue one. I'm actually certain that some aspects of Tzimisce behaviour were taken from the novel. Lasombra aren't automatically evil, even though the author included the word "evil" a total of five times within the Lasombra paragraph alone. Toreadors aren't just lovey-dovey Twilight derivatives. Toreadors can be the cruelest of all clans due to their understanding of human emotions, and thus their capability to toy with said human emotion. Tzimisce aren't "outright evil" either. Ravnos aren't just gypsies turned vampire. True - they prefer to embrace from gypsy families due to their alliances with said gypsy families, but that does not make them exclusively gypsies. The author also completely ignored Chimerstry, which is one of the best (in my opinion - best) Discipline in VtM. Also, what kind of bullshit about "racism" did he spew? Ethnicity =/= race, author-guy. Ugh. Ugh. UGH. Sorry for the negativity. I'm not usually this critical, honest! I'm inclined to be more fault-finding in the face of an honest-to-goodness article posted on an assumed-reputable site. Edited by Rudiger Blumenthal, Aug 15 2014, 04:16 PM.

Don't apologize for being 'negative' - everyone can have their opinions and share them. I totally agree with you on all of that anyways. I'll be perfectly honest and admit that I didn't read every word of the article. I just thought it was weird that i09 was posting something about VtM - since it's sort of old hat nowadays. But let's be serious.... Ravnos are still the worst. >.> Edited by Administrator, Aug 15 2014, 04:23 PM.

Ohh, now that you mention it, it is quite strange to see an article about VtM. VtM will never die~ but I've never seen new articles about it until now. It's pretty hard to make a list. Honestly, I'm really loving the Followers of Set recently. In this grossly Christian Caine related mythology, it feels really fresh to have a clan that says "Caine? Fuck 'im, Set was way older than Caine." Not that I mind Christianity or religion in general, but I feel that it is an injustice to the vast universe of VtM that the Caine myth was validated through Gehenna. (That's why I purged my mind of Gehenna ever happening.) Edited by Rudiger Blumenthal, Aug 15 2014, 05:51 PM.

Hey, I like Ravnos! And that article is utter drivel. All it shows is how he likes his vampires, and hasn't bothered with any nuances to anything that doesn't fit his idea of what a vampire should be. His analysis of the Nosferatu, for example, boils down to "they ugly, ugh. Malks can stealthy stealth too. Be that instead." |

*whines* But they are ugly! I was actually really surprised that Assamite made second on the list. I find the extremely dull. |

I find both Assamites and Ventrue dull, because they default to fairly generic characters. Ventrue, especially, could just be mortals who live long. These are sweeping generalizations, but when I read up on a clan, normally I'll have a dozen ideas for potential characters. Ventrue never do that for me. |

That's fair. Everyone has their preferences. I've always loved the Ventrue clan. Lasombra and Giovanni are next because they're Ventrue with extra cool powers. Haha. |
