JACE: Jace sat on the library steps, the early-night breeze ruffling his hair as he waited. Okay, so he had shown up a little early, but he had hoped that at least someone from the group that afternoon would have shown up by now. He sighed, his punctuality annoying him somewhat. He kinda wished on some level that he was the kind of person who showed up late and slept in past noon. But sadly, it was not.

He'd begun to fiddle with his phone out of habit to pass the time when he heard footsteps coming towards the library, and smiled upon seeing another member of the earlier group, his ears perking up.

Juliane left her dorm and approached the library slowly, not wanting to seem too eager. In truth, she was excited to meet up with people tonight. It had been awhile since she'd really hung out with anybody. Even over the summer she'd been busy helping out at her dad's book shop, not to mention her old friends, what few she had, weren't as apt to hang out with her now that she had freaky horse ears and a freaky horse tail. Well, so what if they didn't want to hang out anymore? She was ready to hang out with people who wouldn't judge her and could become her friends.

Before she knew it, she could see the steps of the library a little ways ahead. And was that....someone sitting on them? She hadn't really been expecting anyone else to show up early.

When she was only a few feet away, and could see who it was, she could see that it was Jace, messing with his phone. As she approached, she smiled and waved. "Hey, it's good to see you again."

Enola was sitting on her bed in the dorm looking reading threw the book she had been reading while on the plain to VRA then she remembered she had to meet up with the group from earlyer at the library. putting her bookmark inside the fantasy noval she was reading she sighed. she had no idea how to act around new people. she wasnt good with making friends because she was so shy and soft spoken. "i guess i should try at least." she spoke softly even to herself.
Getting up slowly she got off the bed grabbed her bag and stuffed her book and glasses case inside of it and left for the library. alot of things ran threw her mind as she walked. it was alot of what ifs really, along with her uneasy feelings. she was nearly there when she saw two people at the steps of the library. she tried to give them her best smile but it barely showed on her lips. "he-hello again."

Jace looked up from his phone, which he had only had time to open his messages app (nothing new) before the first of them arrived. He smiled. "Hey, Juli. Nice to see you again, too." Before either of them could get another word in edgewise a third figure showed up with a tiny smile and greeted them both. His grin widened.
"Hi, Enola. Glad you guys could make it. It's been a while since I've been able to hang out with anyone, and I didn't want to feel foolish coming here alone." His summer had consisted of work and helping around the house with his six younger siblings. Whatever communication with his friends he had managed to squeeze into his time had been mostly through communication. Not one to admit it completely, though, he had really missed human interaction.

Enola took a step back being the shy girl that she was. she really felt like a fish out of water now. she opened her mouth to say something but no words would form, so she closed her mouth and looked down at her boots, she felt foolish, why was it that she could be open to her little sister and her parents but no one else. she sighed softly while holding her bag. all she wanted to do now was put her nose in a book and read.

"ma-maybe we should head inside." slowly she tilted her head up to look at them. her long and short hair moved as the wind was blowing. "or maybe i could go inside." she just slowly started to side step around the two. in the attempt to going inside the library.

Jace, without actually touching her, reached a hand out and smiled reassuringly before getting up. "Here-- you can sit on the steps if you want. The others should be here soon and we don't want to miss them." He used that same calming voice he had used before, as with his younger siblings, because somehow he knew she was about ten states away form her comfort zone right now.

Juliane smiled, but flinched slightly at the use of the nickname. She had never really been fond of the nickname "Julie", but she often didn't say anything because she didn't want to seem rude. She smiled and waved when she saw Enola walking toward them. "Hey, Enola. Good to see you."

Juliane watched the exchange between Jace and Enola, seeing that Enola was uncomfortable, and moved over a bit so she was standing slightly closer to Jace than her, thinking it might help to give her some room. She smiled at Enola, hoping to help her relax around people. "Is it your first year here?" She thought that starting a conversation with her might help.

she looked at the two of them before sitting down on the stairs after jace had offered the seat to her. enola stayed quite for a bit before speaking back to juliane. "yes, this is my first year here." she looked back down at her feet before looking at any of them and spoke again. "what happens if no one comes."

Jace smiled, mostly to himself. "They'll come, I'm sure of it. And if not then, well..." He paused in thought. His fingers absently fiddled with the white bunny charm on his cell before he answered "Then we'll just be like the three musketeers, I guess. I call mickey-- Oh wait, that's Mouse-keteers."

Juliane smiled at Enola's reply and question. She hadn't voiced it, but she had been a little worried about people not showing up as well. She turned to Jace while he replied and laughed a bit at his answer. "Sounds like fun!" Even though nobody else had shown up it looked like this night could still be fun. "So...what're we going to do?"
