Linn for the Win
((Purpose: Introduce 2 Pokemon gained in events and 1 egg gained in another thread to Linnaea's team. WARNING! Character will seem "unrealistically lucky".))

Linn gave a heavy sigh. There were never any people around Nolitimere's area. In fact, she had never even met the dorm leader or a single other member of her dorm. For all Linnaea Rinne knew, she WAS Nolitimere, and hence made Nolitimere a lie. Supposedly it was where the brutally strongest of the academy would reside. Though Linn could put up a fight -- a facade, more accurately -- she knew deep down that she was weak, and there was nothing she could do about it.

She had been lying in a room she temporarily had all to herself. She lie belly-down on a mattress that had definitely seen better days. Its sheets were charred at the edges and there was an unmistakable stench of smoke that filled the room. There were little turquoise stains up and down the walls, and some of the bright teal color had even gotten on the ceiling. Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to let her firebreathing Smeargle out to play. However, at that present moment, the naive troublemaker had curled up and lie contentedly next to Linn. With a sigh, the brunette moved one hand over to her baby Pokemon and scratched it behind the ear. It smiled contentedly in its half-slumber, and its tail flicked once. Some more turquoise paint soaked into the mattress from the Painter Pokemon's tail, and Linnaea wondered if she should teach the hatchling to control that. Smears would have to grow out of "wetting the bed" sooner or later.

Linn returned her hand to grasp casually back onto an item that she seemed very intent on. If one were to peek over her shoulder, they would find that the pale girl seemed to be very absorbed in reading a book. Before assuming that she just must be a very studious student, though, they may notice the simple yet well-drawn pictures that covered each page in little boxes. Yes, Linnaea was doing what no one would expect anyone but a Nolitimere to do -- she was contentedly flipping through pages upon pages of a manga.

However, it would appear that Linn's stash was running out. It only took a few more pages to finish off the comic she had been focused on, and when she reached for the next in its series, her hand met with nothing but a wet bluish substance. She had gotten completely up-to-date with that one. Feeling somehow disappointed, Linn rose from her place on her bed. Smear rose its head curiously, in a very tired manner, to see what had caused its mommy to suddenly want to go away. Patting the young Pokemon's head gently, Linn told the Pokemon to go ahead and take a nap. She said she would be right back. The trusting little Pokemon blinked, and let its head sink back onto the mattress. Its tail flicked once more, this time in a groggy sort of "see you later", leaving yet another streak on the already-soaking mattress.

Linn left quietly so as not to disturb the napping Smeargle, shutting the door with the utmost care. She didn't care to let it slam shut and cause her Smears to be uneasy. As soon as she was out of the room, she headed down a hallway and out another door. After a few moments, the girl with the chocolate-milk hair had left the building. She stumbled upon something she hadn't expected to see. A flash of light caught her eye, and Linn saw some strange blue thing writhing nearby. When she turned to see what it was, she was more surprised to see the puddle (since when was there enough water for that in this area?) than to see the Pokemon in it.

"Drat; it's teeny," Linn said, chuckling a little at her own pun. There was a very small Dragon-type wriggling happily in its puddle. Weren't Dratini supposed to be really big, as in above six feet in length? How come this one was hardly three? Being as dense as ever, Linn only noticed the minutiae like the H2O and the size, rather than the fact that she was standing before an incredibly rare Pokemon. The Dragon Pokemon continued to splash cheerfully for a few more minutes as Linn simply watched, until it finally noticed that someone had their eyes on it. As soon as it did, it froze mid-splash in a strange position. It had been in the midst of slithering under its own tail, and there had been a loop near the front of its body where it had curled around before. It was really rather humorous. The Pokemon slowly arced to get a better look at Linn before its eyes lit up with glee. Before Linnaea could even blink, she was being charged by the runt Dratini. It seemed to be preparing an attack that would probably be painful-

Yep. Definitely painful.

After taking the Dratini's Extreme Speed charge to the gut and coughing out a fair amount of spit, Linn decided that she would have to defend herself somehow. She sent out the only Pokemon she had on hand. "Yuki! Help me out he-" the brunette began, but was cut off by another Extreme Speed. This time the attack struck hard on the back of her head. The momentum forced the frail girl to release her grasp on the Pokeball that contained her Snover, and it flew off a ways away. Thankfully, it had landed in a way so that the Pokemon it held was released.

The shiny Frost Tree Pokemon blinked. Where was she? Wasn't she just with her guyfriends only a second ago? Surely this was one of the girls they were attacking just a few seconds ago... so why was it so warm, and why had she just come out of a Pokeball? This was the Pokemon's first time out and awake since her capture, and so she naturally had no idea what was going on. However, she seemed to get the idea when she saw that the human girl nearby was about to get rammed into by a blue dragon-worm. Hey! That's MY target, the Snover thought in the language of her kind. She sent out a harsh gust of Icy Wind towards the Dratini, whose speed was slowed down just enough to change its attack from a brutal tackle into a harmless bump. It fell limply to the ground, already fainted. The infuriated Snover sent out a shrill Grass Whistle that snapped something in the brains of the Dratini and the human. Well, that was ONE way to get that move to work. The two disabled beings fell to the ground simultaneously, in a sleeplike state.

Yuki sprinted over to Linn. The girl had left her backpack on her back, and the Snover reached in to fish out something that would be good to throw. It had to be solid and painful, for sure. As soon as the shiny Pokemon's blue-tipped paw touched a heavy metallic object, she decided that this would be a good projectile. Without even bothering to see what it was, the Snover hurled the object towards the annoying Dratini that lay before her. The circular object flashed white, then red, then white, then red... It seemed that when this Pokemon was involved, accidental capture attempts were a common occurrence.

The orb smacked into the sleeping Dratini with intense force. Despite being asleep and having taken a super-effective Icy Wind, what happened still shouldn't have happened. It was only a 1 in 3 chance. Linnaea's weird reverse-luck streak didn't stop at catching a shiny Snover in one unintentional go. Rather, the universe, which seemed to be very much enjoying its very twisted self, let the Mirage Pokemon be captured with one throw.

Seeing that the Dratini was no longer a threat to her target, the Snover turned to the trainer she didn't know she had. She generated one small, tough-shelled, rotund seed, and dropped it next to the unresponsive teen. It promptly cracked open with a very loud sound, right in front of Linn's face. The mini Seed Bomb was definitely enough to wake the snoozing girl. She opened her eyes to see big white eyes with constricted, angry blue pupils glaring at her. The Snover began chittering angrily. Linn almost felt like she was being told off for letting herself get attacked. "Calm yourself, Yuki," she grumbled. Her head hurt and her ears were ringing. Why was this Pokemon so loud? She returned the Pokemon to her Pokeball.

Back by the doors, another small figure caught Linn's attention. It looked like Smears had been awakened by the Snover's very loud, aggressive battle style. "Smeary, why are you out here?" Linn inquired in a worried tone, attempting to be loud enough so that her hatchling could hear. The Pokemon didn't seem to be particularly frightened by the shrill and explosive sounds it had just heard, though. It hopped, skipped, jumped, tumbled, and tripped its way over to its two-faced trainer. It was about to reach Linnaea, but the distractible Pokemon saw a puddle nearby and gladly bounced right into it, making a little splash. It splished around for a while and even seemed to have forgotten why it had woken up in the first place. However, something was coming to put a damp damper on Smear's merriment. It came from the sky -- a good bucket-sized mass of water that floated right over Smeary's head came down in a downpour. Linnaea simply froze, bewildered. Where had that come from? Her baby Pokemon stared at its tail in awe. The color that had leaked onto the end had all been washed off. It was a strange sight, indeed, but it only lasted for a brief moment. The turquoise paint rapidly spilled back out again. The tail tip was once again coated in a wet layer of blue.

Feeling irate that something had done this to her little Smeargle, Linn looked to see what had been the cause. It very well might have been an Aquiliam member. They didn't seem to be against over-moistening things. They really did take after their Legendary Pokemon, didn't they? The irritated girl saw something yellow teeter out from behind a corner of a building not too far off in the distance. It was a Spinda, right? Nothing else Linn could think of moved with such a... circular gait. Is that even how one would describe it? When it saw Smears standing in the puddle that had just gotten bigger, it seemed very concerned. It dashed closer in an almost frantic way. Once it approached, Linn was able to recognize it as... as... a Hypno? That seemed right! It gave out a very loud, very anxious cry of "Droooowwwzeeeee!" ...Maybe not a Hypno, then. Close enough.

The Drowzee turned towards Linn, as if it were an intuitive motion. The Psychic-type lumbered towards her with wide eyes full of disbelief. It walked right up to Linn's feet and lied a paw right onto the Dratini's Pokeball, as if it knew what the ball contained. It slowly turned its haunted, incredulous eyes to stare at Linnaea. The poor Pokemon seemed horrified. A faint pinkish glow seemed to arise from off of the Pokemon's body, but Linn couldn't be sure. Suddenly, the girl was hit with a strong urge to let it go. Let it go, now! There was a begging look in the Drowzee's eyes then. It was an unmistakable pleading look. All Linnaea could do was stand there, shocked by this development. Taking the human's silence as a refusal, the Drowzee's mannerism became hostile. Wait, that was not the word. It was more like the Pokemon was suddenly "forceful". The Pokemon had an aura about it that seemed to say, plain as day, that if you're taking my friend, then you'll have to take me TOO! Before letting Linn decide what to do about this, the Drowzee pulled a Psyduck and got itself sucked into another Pokeball of Linn's. That was very spontaneous...

Smears had been poking at the ground for a while as its trainer had been dealing with (or being dealt with by) the Drowzee. It seemed to have found something, and pointed it out to Linn. She thought that it must have been something insignificant like a feather or a pebble. ((Yes. Game references!))

Wait... no way! There was something sticking out of the ground a little, and the pattern on what could be seen was much more unique than anything that could be found on a rock. Could it be another Pokemon? Linn was still shocked. There happened to be a Pokemon Egg half-buried in the dirt. She asked Smeary to help her dig out the white object. This thing had better not be about to hatch Linn thought suspiciously. She couldn't manage too many new Pokemon at once. Who could? However, when the egg had been freed from the soil before her and she reached to fish the thing out of the hole it had sat in, it was cold to the touch. In fact, it was almost chilled. Linn had just gotten possession of a Bergmite Egg... not that she knew what mysteries it contained!

Thankfully, Linnaea was then hit by the feeling that this would definitely be the final stage in this chain events. She wondered if anyone would judge her for suddenly having double the Pokeballs she had before on her hip. Shuddup and let me hoard my Pokemon, she imagined saying to anyone who asked about it. She imagined rolling her eyes at them, and her eyes rolled just a little in reality. It looked like she had nearly filled a team now. How did that even happen? Who had ever heard of someone singlehandedly obtaining three Pokemon in three different styles in about three quarters of an hour? Feeling a little less negative the more she thought about it (and even a little special), Linnaea decided that she wouldn't complain. This was actually a very rare opportunity that very few people must have the chance to experience. Slowly, the girl with the chocolate-milk hair talked herself into being very content about these recent occurrences.

Holding the Egg with her right arm, Linn attached the two newly-filled Pokeballs to the side of her belt. After her left hand was free, she used it to reach down and lightly hold onto her Smeargle's hand. With its paw in her hand, Linnaea led her burgeoning family back to the dorm. She found a grin on her face that she just couldn't wipe away, and Smears looked up at her with an equally blissful smile. Linnaea softly whispered a hope for the future -- a quote she had once heard.

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."
