She showed early business skills, running a successful lemonade stand in her front yard. In high school, Blance was rather popular, having been the President of the School Student Council. She had bucketfuls for friends, and was an active member of the cheer-leading squad. She graduated 8th in her graduating class, and was sent to Magnolia to begin work on her B.A. She began attending school at University of Arkansas, where she met Donald Pillars. Blanche married Donald in 1963 and graduated with her MBA. They were married for a decade, and she gave birth to six of his children. She served as the Assistant Manager of the local Walmart for four years before being hired as the floor manager for the local Dillard's. Four more years later, she was hired as a divisional manager for Dillard's. She then was hired as the manager at the new Hot Springs Outlet Mall, where she and co-manager William Goodall began an affair. She divorced Donald, and married William, barring his child, Kenneth, shortly after. She then applied as Vice President at Dillard's, where she was accepted. She used her terrific skills to save money, and oversaw the success of many failing stores. In 1982, Blanche Goodall ran for the US House from Arkansas' 4th District and won, defeating the incumbent in the primary. She was re-elected in 1984. In the House, was quickly famed for her quick-wit and soft charm, and her use of her seductiveness to persuade other male senators to her point of view and became know for standing her ground. In 1992, Blanche feared a loss due to having a big-name challenger, but eventually won by a seven point margin. She has been re-elected rather easily since then. William Goodall passed away from prostate cancer in 2003, leaving Blanche a widow. She has since not remarried. In 2006, her youngest son Kenneth was killed while fighting overseas, which lead her to opposition to the war. Blanche Goodall is noted for being a moderate. She's against gay marriage, but is supportive of a woman's right to choose. She's very popular in Arkansas. Blanche has become one of the House's longest serving female members. When not in Washington, Blanche, who has a substantial amount of wealth thanks to various Walmart stock and successful divorce settlements, enjoys baking and crocheting at her 90-acre ranch/estate in White Hall. She resides with her housekeeper Aretha, and her oldest grandson and his fiancé. She has one dog, a bichon frise named Chubby, that she totes everywhere.
